Did not finish book.
Too much of an obsession with weight loss and internalized fatphobia.

This book is an interesting study of a close relationship between siblings breaking down and coming back together — and luckily we get to see both of their perspectives in this!!

This book is heart wrenchingly beautiful. This book is so many ugly truths that we do not want to face. This book is brilliant.

I WISH this book was better. I had such high hopes for this book, the concept was electric to me and I feel like instead of delivering on the concept I was given half the concept and half a fantasy. I think if the concept of social hierarchy and the fantasy aspects were separated from each other into two separate books about the same thing, they could be great, but together, it fell so flat.

If I could go back in time and reread any book without having ever read it: it would be this one. This book is so heartbreakingly and beautifully human. I love that this book delves into the complexities of death and the afterlife and grief and loss and does it in such a magical way.

I LOVE Hamilton. Eliza Schuyler is truly my idol. Because of that, because I know who Eliza was and who Alexander was, this book was so difficult for me to read. I know it’s historical fiction but it just veered SO FAR from the real history that is well known that is became unrealistic.
