I really enjoyed how different this was compared to Sager's other books. The setting was fun, and I liked the large cast of characters and that we got to read from each of their POVs. I genuinely had no idea who the killer was, and initially, I thought I was going to be underwhelmed by the ending, but I should have known that Sager would have a few twists up his sleeve. While I did guess some of them, I definitely didn't guess all of them, and I actually loved the way everything wrapped up. Even though the ending was a little chaotic, all of the clues for the twist were there throughout the story- I still felt like the plot made sense and nothing came out of left field, which is how I prefer my thrillers. Overall, I thought this was an entertaining, quick read, and while it may not be my new favorite by Sager (I'd say it falls upper-middle of the pack), I would still recommend it!
Oh my god, I loved this book! Literally everything about it- the plot, the characters, the romance. Rachel Gillig is so good at writing captivating, unique gothic fantasy. It might be a bit preemptive to call this my favorite book of the year, but I will be seriously shocked if something else dethrones it.
Heiress Takes All is one of my favorite YA books, and I loved Heiress Among Thieves just as much (maybe even a little bit more??)!
This book follows Olivia and her crew as they head out to their next mark- Olivia's grandmother's safe full of precious gems and gold. Ever the mastermind, Olivia has meticulously planned for every contingency and is more than ready to endure a weeklong family reunion with the cousins who tormented her as a child. But when her grandmother announces that she is dying and intends to be buried with her fortune, suddenly the race is on for every family member to get into the safe.
I love Olivia's character so much! She's smart and cunning, but also generous and loyal. She's constantly looking out for her crew, and underneath all the rage, she's just a girl looking for love from her family. She honestly makes these books for me, I'm not sure they'd work as well with a different protagonist. I thought she had a lot of character development in this book,
I really enjoyed how fast-paced and action-packed the plot was. One of my only criticisms of book one was that the pace started to drag toward the end, but that was not the case this time! I did not see any of the twists coming, and all of the blackmail and subterfuge kept me on the edge of my seat as I was reading.
I absolutely ate up the romance in this book. I lived for all the moments with Jackson, and given how the book ends, I can't wait to see what we get from him in the next book.
While I enjoyed all of the interactions with Olivia's family, I did feel like this book was missing some of the crew interactions and hijinks that I loved so much in book one. But overall, I thought this was a fantastic sequel, and I will be eagerly awaiting book three!

A romance with real communication and an MMC who takes accountability for his actions? Yes, please!
Gemma is a romance author whose debut novel is about to release, and she's really hoping no one will clock the similarities between the man on the cover and Mason Moretti, professional hockey player and her high school crush. But when another former classmate makes the connection and throws the two together, their public reunion goes viral. When Mason sees the opportunity for a little good PR and to potentially rekindle the flame, he suggests that they continue to be seen together, and Gemma agrees in hopes that it will boost her book sales.
I was lucky enough to get to listen to this audiobook, and I thought it was very well done! I loved the duet narration, of course, both narrators were fantastic and did a great job of bringing the characters to life. But it was the added little pings to signify text messages that kind of blew my mind, lol. It's such a small thing, but it really helped to keep the dialogue from getting confusing. If you have the chance, I would highly recommend listening to this book over reading a print or digital copy.
I really liked both of the main characters in this book. I loved that Gemma refused to compromise on what she wanted in a partner and didn't make excuses for Mason, and I loved that Mason genuinely wanted to learn how to be a more considerate partner. There were a lot of issues that arose as they tried to figure out if they could make a real relationship work, but they always talked it out (ad nauseum sometimes, lol), which I found refreshing.
This is kind of random, but I also really liked that Gemma actually went to a hockey game. It's a pet peeve of mine when there is a sport mentioned in a romance, but we never see any of the sport.
I did feel like the ending wrapped up a little quickly, and I wish we had gotten a little bit more of what happened after the game. But all in all, I thought this was a very fun read, and I am sure that I'll be reading more by this author in the future!

If Lisa Jewell writes it, you better believe I am going to read it! I love her thrillers, and this one is no exception!
I would recommend going into this book knowing as little as possible about it. I really enjoyed the way the story slowly unfolded, and I don't think I would've had the same reading experience if I had known what to expect. I also liked the way the story was told in multiple POVs, because there were several points where I thought I knew exactly what was going on (and who everyone was), but I was very wrong. I think these are some of the most interesting and nuanced characters she's ever written. Nick is definitely the most despicable villain, and honestly, my hate for him is a big part of why I enjoyed this book so much.
My only real criticism of this book is that the pacing felt slightly off. I thought the story started strong; I was instantly intrigued by the premise and flew through the pages, trying to figure out how all our characters were connected. However, it then lulled in the middle before wrapping up very quickly at the end. There were several revelations that we just skimmed over, and I would have liked to spend more time with them. That being said, the ending definitely took me by surprise, and this just might be my favorite ending to any of her books!
If you are a fan of domestic/psychological thrillers, this one's for you!

This was such a beautiful coming-of-age story and romance, I definitely understand why it is so well-awarded. I will confess that this style of book (more of a character study or "slice of life") isn't typically my favorite, and I did feel like the pace was a little slow. But I still think this is a very important book and I would recommend it to everyone.
I loved this book! I was more than ready for Soledad to leave her husband in Before I Let Go, but I never could have guessed how it ended up happening. I was more than here for all the drama, though! I loved watching Soledad's journey to being a happy, independent woman before she decided to try dating again. There were also so many beautiful examples of sisterhood and friendship in this book, and I really appreciated that. Kennedy Ryan just does such a great job of writing characters that are nuanced and feel real. She has quickly become one of my favorite romance authors, and I can't wait to read Hendrix's story!
After years of watching people cry over this book, I was more than ready to have my heart ripped out by a tragic love story, but I just didn't find it to be very compelling. At no point in the story did I feel like Achilles loved Patroclus with the same kind of desperation that Patroclus loved him, nor did I find him worthy of that affection, so as the events of the ending unfolded, I couldn't bring myself to feel sad for Achilles. I mostly felt sad for Patroclus that he fell in love with such a selfish man. However, I did think that this story was very beautifully written, and that is the only reason why I'm rating it 3.5 stars.
I'll admit that this isn't my typical genre, and I only picked up this audiobook because I thought Lights Out was hilarious and I was hoping for more of the same from this one. While the narrators did a fantastic job, this book just wasn't nearly as funny to me. I found the overall tone to be much more serious, and I just couldn't take this romance very seriously. My favorite scenes were definitely the ones featuring Josh, as I wasn't that invested in Nick and Lauren's relationship. There also wasn't nearly enough plot in this for me, and I felt like it took too long to get going.
All in all, I'm not sure if I'll be reading the last book in this trilogy, but if I do, it'll be only so I can say I finished it.

This book has been on my radar since it was published. I've heard nothing but great things about it in the years since, and I am glad to say that the hype is well deserved!
I didn't really know what this book was about before picking it up- something about a curse that affected the women in the FMC's family??- and I would recommend going in knowing as little as possible. I had such a hard time putting this book down; if I had had the time, I would've binged it in one sitting! I was captivated by the unexpected romance, intrigued by the magical realism, and hooked on the mystery. Even with all of that going on, my favorite thing about this book was the love the Farrow women had for each other. It was so beautiful to see how they embraced and cared for one another regardless of time and space.
This book was so nearly a 5-star read for me, I was just still a little confused by the overall timeline by the end, and I honestly wish it had been just a little bit longer.I also wanted the murder and June's disappearance to be more linked. I was waiting for everything to come full circle and was a little disappointed that it was just a coincidence that she went through the door so soon after the murder. But this was still a fantastic book and I highly recommend it!
