informative reflective slow-paced

Overall, I think this volume was intriguing and provocative. Though I have praise and critique of the essays within, I think the book was cohesive.
informative slow-paced

I was unimpressed by the generic manner in which the content was presented. The book lacked specific narratives from affected communities or even any relevant storytelling on how Black and Indigenous people cope with food apartheid. It read like a PWI textbook. The chapter on the dairy industry was enlightening, but the only valuable portion of the book.
