Raahosh and Liz

I was quite intrigued by Raahosh in the first book, I wanted to know more about the roughed-up hunter. I just loved him, even though he was a bit of an ass at times, sometimes warranted tho. His story and his past were quite sad, no wonder he acts as he does. I just wanted to make his insecure, innocent ass feel better. Honestly, I found Liz kinda annoying in the first book, and unfortunately, she wasn’t much better in this. I will say tho she is one strong, boss-ass woman, and I very much respect her for that. She is such a smartass and I love the fact that she calls the Khui, Cootie, the entire book. I found it was actually Georgie and Kira who actually got on my nerves the most in this book. I kinda feel like Georgie’s character took a 180 and she just didn’t kinda seem like the same person from book one. Kira, we’ll she was just being a Debbie downer, and I was just kinda sick of her. Overall I loved this next book in the series and I can’t wait for the next one.

This had everything. Spice, Fluff, funny moments and even some sad. I loved this, was such a good little extra story to Vektal and Georgie, you really got an insight to how there relationship is in day to day. I thought the burying of the lost girls was such a good idea, it gave their past of horrors a little conclusion. The scene in the end at the gave, had me laughing, the whole maneater thing, these guys honestly have no clue with human ways.

Raahosh and Liz Honeymoon

So this time it is Liz and Raahosh that go on their honeymoon. Like the first one this has its sad, fluffy, smutty and funny moments. We got to see more into how Raahosh thinks and his insecurities. Liz was quick to wash them all away tho.

Cat and Mouse Duet Prequel.

Okay so I didn’t really like this at first, but that is completely to blame on the fact that I had the main ‘theme’ of the book spoiled. I think if I went into this book blind it probably would have been five stars. It was kinda slow to start but once it got a third of the way through I got really into it, especially when Zade popped up! I think I really enjoyed the horror/murder side of this book more than I did the spice. And Although it was spoiled, I really enjoyed the ending. This was such a good little introduction to the Cat and Mouse Duet, and I can’t wait to read it.

Kira and Aehako.

This is the first book in the series that deals with a couple that did not resonate with each other. Aehako is the funny, flirtatious one of the Aliens and Kira is the grumpy depressed one of the humans. I think that this book will forever be burned into my head just because of the hand-carved mating gift that Aehako gave to Kira. It was nice to see such a fun and uplifting male in this one, as the others have been very headstrong or just completely lovey-dovey. I think these two are my favourite couple so far. I loved that this book ended the troubles that were looming over some of the girls but especially Kira, and her personal problems. We got to see the end of the shitty little green men and the hurtful and horrible translator that they surgically inserted into Kira’s ear. It felt like it was almost a fresh start for the girls as their past troubles and the worry of them coming back, had been erased.

“Are you going to unwrap me like a present?” “Like a bit of organ meat hiding under the ribs of a fresh kill,” I tease. Her nose wrinkles. “That… sounds awful.” “Ah, but those are the tastiest, juiciest parts.”

I’ve been in a bit of a reading slump lately, not 100% enjoying everything I’ve been reading. But this pulled me all the way out. This is the arc that I’ve been most excited about reading this year, and I can’t believe it took me so long to get to it. To anyone who loves mafia books, this is definitely one for you! I’m not gonna lie after I read this book, I think I spent an hour staring at the wall, thinking about Keller. Honestly, I still am, but anyway! God, I’m so obsessed with him, and this story. This book has the spice that you could want and the cute and funny moments in between. I normally despise the whole pregnancy trope thing, but in this book, I ate it up. I am sitting on the edge of my seat, desperately waiting for book 2. I can’t wait to see more of Grayson and Maddie!

“If I’m not with him, he’s all I think about. When I am with him, I just want to rip my clothes off and let him devour every inch of me. We light each other up through our own brand of darkness.”

I really enjoyed this book, I just wished it was a little longer. Although it was only under 200 pages, It sometimes felt as if it were rushing through the story, just to get it all out. I wished that the story was a bit slower and we got to see more of each scene instead of just hopping around. I did however absolutely adore the fact that the author made both Astra and Danylo in their late thirties, I am so used to seeing the fmc being in her early twenties and the mmc in his late thirties. It was a bit of a breath of fresh air. The spice scenes in this were immaculate, they were downright dirty and full of spice and BDSM. I am honestly in love with Astras’ bloodthirstyness, and it had me laughing my ass off with the whole ‘bowtie of guts’! I can’t wait to see where the story goes in book 2!

“Jesus Christ. I really did marry a psychopath. But it would be a lie if I didn’t say she’s fucking hot when she’s working.”

This is a super cute, enemies to lovers, rom-com and is definitely a slooooow burn. I loved the banter and fights (ahem aka ‘foreplay’), between Madeline and Gabriel. I quite enjoyed that even when they were fighting, they weren’t being horrible and they weren’t screaming down each other's throats. I think that really showed early on the maturity levels of the couple and who they were as people. These two definitely had great chemistry and the spice scenes were off the charts, not to mention the constant checking for consent. You don’t always see that in romance books, especially enemies to lovers. Also, you gotta love a girl who can play the innocent game, and then when needed play the sadistic, boss lady game. I think my only reason for not giving 4 stars was that this was a slow, slow burn and there was no great, enemies to lovers event, that got them together. They just kinda got together, and I know there was that kiss at the door, but I just felt like there was all this build-up and it just kinda felt flat, and then went on. That could just be because I’ve read way too many enemies to lovers books, lol!, but that’s just how I personally felt.

“What do I have to do to make you understand I can’t see you afraid or in pain? It hurts me to see you that way, it feels like someone has punched me in the heart and I can’t breathe.”

I’m quite enjoying this series so far. This book gave a new depth to the first one and answered most of the questions I had. I think this is the first time I’ve read a series in that every book focuses on all the couples and not just one per book. I’m this one we were introduced to a new couple, Vince and Veronica. The characters so far have only been werewolves or humans, but this one introduced Veronica, a vampire. I really enjoyed the woman having the power in the relationship this time round, although the reasons why were kinda sad. It was nice to see Liz a little more secure and trusting in her relationship with her mates, as well as her wolf. Devin and Grace still have a little strain on their relationship, but after their little conversation, hopefully, their dynamic will change a bit I’m the next one.

This was so cute! My only complaint from barbarian mine was that I wished there was more time between them in the cave, and this definitely delivered it!
