I liked this much more than I expected to.  Easy read, likeable characters
Would have been nice for the ASL pages to show BSl variation in the UK publication. As I just ended up skipping these pages.

The historical stuff was good but a bit of a too rapid change in peace and writing style for me that distracted from the flow of the story.  Would have preferred to have it more as a conversation with the characters

Did not finish book. Stopped at 44%.
I really wanted to like this book.  I loved the concept on the synposis, and the book is beautiful but I just couldn't get into it.  For some reason I couldn't connect to any of the characters and found it very dull so in order to move onto better things I'm going to stop here

Lagged in bits but great in others.  The ending was much faster paced than the rest of the book and felt a bit rushed.

I enjoyed this book a lot but I did not love the ending... I would have probably given it 4 star without the last 3 pages as it totally changed the mood of finishing the book for me.
There was a twist I didn't see coming which is very unusual for me.
I loved the characters and the message of building community and the importance of human connection.
The story is spilt the current time and the past and I loved the back story of Hubert's life.
Overall a really great read
