This was a quite simple story with an incredibly interesting world. I loved the powers of fendoirs and gravoirs, it was quite unique.
The character development of Isda was a strong point. I appreciated how the focus was mostly on her and not on the romance. She needed to make certain revelations and I loved how she became much stronger toward to end.
As much as I don’t think the romance was the main plot. I adored Emeric. He is a pure hearted boy who would do anything for the people he loves.

First, this book has an amazing atmosphere. The eerie music and ghosts define this book. That and the family history and trauma. This book is mostly about family. It’s grief and secrets.
On the side there is a cute found family in this book too.

How mesmerizing this book is.
I think it’s mostly because of the amazing writing. The plot points flow together so effortlessly it’s brilliant.
The characters are also phenomenal, especially Silas who is incredibly unique, I loved him. I loved Elisabeth and Nathaniel apart and together too. They complete each other perfectly and give strength to one and other throughout the whole book.
Love the inclusion of bisexuality and aromantic and/or asexuality.
And another thing where this books shines is literally the books… or the so called grimoires in this. Elisabeth grew up in one of the five Great Libraries containing magical grimoires. Each of them has their unique personalities which makes every bookworms hears sing while reading it.
Truly a beautiful book.

This book has the best opening paraghraph I’ve ever read.
Our main character Alexis kills a guy She’s trying to sleep with at a prom after party. The book is basically about how her friends help her cover it up. But it’s just the surface, it’s about so much more.
I loved all friend, they were all unique characters. I really liked how Alexis had alone time with all of them. It helped deepen their personalities and also helped my poor little brain remember them.
I also adored Alexis’ relationship with her dads. They are understanding but strict in very reasonable ways in my opinion. I wished we could see more of his brother, Nico and their relationship.
I loved Alexis’ growth. Learning that people love and accept her. Nonetheless she is an ambiguous character hence the murder but that’s everyone’s personal opinion how they feel about it.
The resolution was great, kinda what I expected.
