y'all are not lying, the hype is so real. it was very good and so worth the read. it has anything you could want in a fantasy book— amazing world-building, well-thought and executed plot, loveable characters, fascinating lores, sapphic and queer representation, magic, dragons, pirates, etc. so don't hesitate about reading it anymore, JUST READ IT. otherwise you wouldn't know what you are missing on. the length might be so intimidating but i promise you it wasn't enough because you will crave for more and never want it to end.

eadsabran, my wives. tané, my girl. loth, my man. niclays,,,, i'll think about it lol but kidding aside his character development is one of the highlights of this book.

this book have me confused on the most parts especially in early chapters, i even thought of dnfing halfway through because i still hadn't understanding anything and felt so stupid but i'm glad i pushed through and finished it, so far this is the most beautiful book i've ever read in my life. it left me staring on our wall for an hour feeling empty after finishing it. red and blue invented yearning.

I am in awe. Firstly, Hafsah Faizal's writing was so beautiful. The world-building was so impressive. Although the start was a bit slow, just like what usually expected in fantasy books, you would not mind because you would get curious and engrossed with the details and how things were described. It was magical. Arabian culture seems so fascinating. Secondly, I love how the author did not rushed the things between Zafira and Nasir. They don't always have each other's throat just for the sake of being enemies and their interactions wasn't forced. And the tension??? And Lastly, the turning point of each structures of the story was just on the right pace and I think that's what made this a perfect book.
