Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami

Not yet sure about my rating - the book is still making me feel things. It's my first novel by the author and I found it quite melancholic (obviously). After finishing it I went to Reddit for ending discussions and then to the 1-star Goodreads reviews for their comment sections as that's where all the different ideas usually come out...that really set the gears in my brain going. The book is special. Flawed characters and unreliable narrators all round. This one will make you think..

Such a strange and funky book. Don't take it at face value - read between the lines. The book critiques many things and makes you use your noggin (kind if just like Bell).
I read the book on Kindle but there are historical footnotes the author put in that I wish I could leaf to, but was just too much of a hassle on kindle, so try and get this as a print copy if you can.

Given all the rave reviews, I almost feel like I read a different book. It would be a bleak world if we all liked the same things, though.

Fantastic read with interesting themes, bit slow in the beginning, but once you get to the creation's voice it really picks up. Mary wrote her characters wonderfully.
