Out From Boneville: I had as much fun with this book as the first time!

The Great Cow Race:This book, filled with humour and action, delighted me as much as the first! I'm having as much fun as the first time I read it. But Thorn's character design, as with the first book, is inconsistent throughout and it really bothers me. As far as I've noticed, this is only a problem with her. Very strange, I think.
Anyway, great read!

Eyes of the Storm:Poor Thorn's still inconsistent in her design.

But other than that, this book is pretty good. You should read it 👍👍

I thought Solitary was a good first book to The Solitary Tales, though it contained my most despised trope of all: love at first sight, thus the three stars. Everything else was good, I think. The writing style was interesting and kept me reading even at the slow parts. It is slow going at first, but then speeds up slowly, as we get more information about this town. I'd recommend it.

I thought this was such a good way to end the series! I saw it as hopeful and beautiful, even though lots of characters died. I liked the sense of adventure and wonder I got from the Baudalaire children when they set sail and left the island behind. Even though we didn't get all our questions answered, I was okay with that, because I feel like the book handled the open ending in a way that was satisfying.
I also loved that the author decided to turn a certain hallmark of the books onto its head and have the islanders recognize Olaf in one of his stupid diguises. It was pretty great and refreshing! One little thing I loved was that everything that ended up in the ocean washed to the costal shelf.
I loved the atmosphere and different environment the children were thrown into. White sandy beaches, costal shelves, the fact that the islanders wore white robes; I was picturing it in my head the whole time and loved what I saw!
All in all, I thought it was amazing, and definitely makes me want to reread the whole thing again!

Okay, so this book did not start off well for me at ALL. Bluekit and her sister open their eyes the DAY AFTER THEY WERE BORN. Ummm, Erins, not sure if you realize this but, CATS ARE NOT HORSES. All they can do for the first week or so of their lives is cry, eat, and sleep, NOTHING MORE. THEY CANNOT "JUMP TO THEIR PAWS" OR ANYTHING! WHY??? HOW DO YOU MAKE A MISTAKE LIKE THIS???? Honestly, this is actually terrible. I had to skip the rest of chapter one just because this was bothering me too much.
I don't have many bad things to say about the rest. I liked the politics over Sunningrocks; Pinestar's choice to become a kittypet I thought was interesting because I haven't read anything like that in Warriors before. I'm not sure what I think about the romance, Oakheart was okay. Thistle law could've been more fleshed out, and he could have had some good traits and not been so obviously evil. I think he would have been a better character if he had more subtlety.

The art is great, the story is great, just the kind of thing I like from a Babysitters Club book!

This series is a lot of fun to read. And I've pretty much gotten used to Thorn's character design inconsistencies, so that wasn't an issue.

This is a solid 7th book in the series, with interesting world building and interesting environments. The art is still beautiful, though Thorn still suffers from Inconsistent Character Design Syndrome (or ICDS). Or maybe it's just in my head lol.
Right off the bat, we're told a lot of new information about Thorn's powers rather than shown her discovering them, but this doesn't really matter to me as much.
Also, Bartleby's back!!
