What to say about Bad Magic? Hmmm this was an easy and quick read but not what I was expecting at all. I went into this story expecting a psychological thriller full of stakes, twists and turns, that would keep me on the edge of my seat but unfortunately it didn’t.

I feel like the synopsis did not give this book any justice because I expected Richard to fight back against Amanda who has bullied and tormented him his while life but he just lies down and let’s her get away with everything. Richard was a very weak and one dimensional character and I didn’t really like him so things he said, thought and did had me rolling my eyes.

There was a few twists and turns towards the end which I didn’t see coming which I enjoyed and shocked me. These twists and turns did raise my rating to a three star.

I would recommend this thriller to people trying to branch out into thriller novels.

I haven’t read a werewolf book in such a long time so I was excited to give it a try. This was a very quick read but I had a lot of thoughts as I was reading. I found this plot to be very crazy, all over the place and moved way too quickly. Book 1 basically took place over a week or two and then book 2 took place a couple of months after book 1 and also happened in the span of a week or two also.

I also believe that everything was revealed way too quickly. I would have really enjoyed more suspense and mystery! Although I really liked the characters in this story, I didn’t feel like they were developed enough for my liking. Mia kept telling us that she didn’t trust anyone but almost right away she was confiding in other characters and telling them her secrets and she didn’t know anything about them. I also felt like I never learned anything about our side characters at all. Nothing about their backgrounds or stories which I found to be quite annoying and frustrating.

Another thing about characters which frustrated me to know end was that the trauma and abuse Mia suffered for all those years had absolutely no effect on her at all. It was like she left her home and never had any trauma related issues which is a very false representation of a trauma victim.

We also have a case of insta love. Mia meets this character about three times and has a five minute conversation with him and the next time they meet then end up kissing and getting together which made no sense at all. She doesn’t know this guy at all!

Many of the problems that Mia faces get solved way too quickly. Something will happen and it wil be completely resolved in that same chapter. It was all very convenient. I would have liked these situations to have been stretched longer and made more tense and suspenseful so that I could feel what the stakes were.

Although this story has a lot of flaws I do believe that this is a fun and exciting story if you’re looking for something quick and easy to read.

This was a very intricate fantasy world with phenomenal world building, from the queen's lavish castle to the dark and seedy criminal world.

Lately I have been really enjoying when the main characters is a thief. We meet many well developed characters who you either love or hate. A superb murder mystery which keeps you guessing right up to the reveal and I did not see that coming at all.

This was a really action packed story with something happening all the time. Although the romance happened very quickly but I did enjoy watching their relationship grow and the highs and lows of what is happening to them and how it is affecting the relationship.

This was an absolutely amazing debut and fantasy standalone which left me so happy and content at the end.

Bullets, teeth and fists was gifted to me in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Normally I’m not a huge fan of short stories but this story piqued my interest when it was put to me. So I knew I had to check it out straight away.

Before I go into my thoughts and emotions on this collection of short stories I want to discuss how I read and rated this book. I always struggle to rate anthologies. So what I decided to do was rate each story individually as I read, then add all those ratings up and divide that by the number of stories in this novel.

So 62 divided by 20 equals 3.1 stars

Within this collection I loved some of these stories. Others I didn’t really like not because they were bad but because they were so short that before I could get a grasp on what was going on with the story it was over.

This was a really dark and grim collection that honestly made me worried for humanity. Bullets, teeth and fists is a beautifully written, creepy, dark and suspenseful story. I did not expect what I got with some of these stories. I distinctly remember one made me say woah out loud when I finished the story.

As I previously mentioned I didn’t necessarily like or connect with some stories because they were too short to create any thoughts or emotions towards it. I also felt like a lot of these stories ended too soon and I don’t like when I don’t get a closed ending.

BUT

I really, really enjoyed this collection of stories and would definitely read more from this author.
