I read this with my husbutch and we loved every single page. It felt so special to read a story that represented fun little moments and experiences that we’ve personally shared; which can be rare.

Tain Hu should have been at the club!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(

Gut-wrenching book about the horrors of colonialism — especially the interpersonal horrors.

An incredibly accessible look into the cogs of empire and the politics/economics surrounding it. Yes, I enjoyed the economics, even as a self-identified math hater.

Felt so connected to the characters and the world despite my better judgement. Can’t even fully describe it, but this is the kind of book that is so perfect to me.

Ending made me sick to my stomach. 10/10!

Baru might be for you if your favorite TLT book is Harrow the Ninth (so if you’re me)
