It was a really small book and was a nice prequel, though I've already read the trilogy. It's been almost a year, though, so I can't fully remember, but Pip seemed slightly more annoying in this book than the first or third books of the series. Pip was annoying in the second and I won't deny it.

It was a good mystery, though the end wrapped up way too fast and suddenly when Pip just said "Oh, I know who did it!" and spun a whole story out of the blue. I guess it is to be expected, though, since the book is so short.

It was a pretty good book. When I first got it and began reading, I had no idea it was sapphic. I had just picked it up because I loved Maureen Johnson’s other books and also the cover was a cool design.

It was an extremely pleasant surprise. I absolutely love sapphic romance and have been searching for more recently (I’m sapphic).

The book was pretty good. You don’t know who is responsible until the end. I also like the back and forth between the two timelines. Sometimes it was hard to remember so many characters like Unity, Victory, Benjamin, William, etc. It took me until about 70% of the way to get down who was who.

It was a good book. Not too gory. Not boring. Engaging.

This. Was. Amazing.

It was heart-wrenching. It was so realistic and well-made by someone with first-hand experience. It helped me to understand a little of what my best friend goes through every day. I’ve never lost anyone.

This is a book about grief. Do not judge it by the first few chapters. Keep reading. It is such a strong book with so many real emotions. Everyone should read at least one Kathleen Glasgow book in their life, if not all.

I read a bit over a third of the book and it sucks. It is supposed to be about grief but it is all about her thirsting over her friend’s ex. There is unnecessary pining and smut and this starts basically immediately. The character’s actions don’t make sense. Too pseudo-angsty without actually caring about how anyone is grieving. It truly sucks.

Started it today and it had absolutely no hook and was actually just really boring so I put it down for a gayer book.

This book is so good. The mlm/wlw solidarity is reallllll!!

This is an amazing book of queerness and love and emotion. I love the characters so much.

The plot was very easy to understand and characters were both easily discernible and well-developed.

I highly recommend this book to those who like some history, some British people, and some gays.

This was a pretty good book. My heart definitely broke near the end and the plot twist was WHAT!?

It was good. At the end, I even knew which characters were which. At first, it was a bit difficult because there were so many names being thrown around. You guys have to read the second since it leaves on a cliffhanger.

I cried while reading this. FIRST OF ALL THE ROMANCE MELTED MY HEART AND I LOVE AURELIO WITH EVERY FIBER OF MY LESBIAN BEING!!

Secondly, the story was pretty good. Decent action. It was nice. Lots of character development.

I especially liked Niya’s character and story development. She’s amazing.

I HAVE TO SAY I DONT LIKE XIO… They literally did something so stupid and many people likely died so I don’t think they deserve forgiveness for that. It doesn’t matter whatever happens afterward, you caused death and pain. Like I don’t know, whatever.

So, I definitely cried over a certain character and also reread certain ADORABLE scenes.

I have one complaint, though. Near the end chapters, it started getting like lowkey really cringey with all this love and unity and power of friendship stuff. Look friendship and love and unity is great and all, BUT IT STARTED GIVING ME THE ICK. There was too much “with the power of love and family and friendship we can do anything” and even the romance at the end got slightly too mushy…

I still loved the book, though, and was able to ignore my brain that cringes and normal stuff. But yes. Read this duology.
