I won’t give spoilers but I’m going to be honest. These books were very good but I feel like they were also unnecessary. I wish Ridley Pearson had left the original story at 7 books and then moved onto the Inheritance series which I know is coming soon. The Return series was fun to read but I just felt like they didn’t need to be written. That’s just my personal opinion. Overall Ridley Pearson did a wonderful job in writing them as always. Thank you for keeping the Disney magic alive❤️

I won this book in a giveaway and was asked to review it before it’s been edited. All opinions are my own.

Well to start off this book was ok. The beginning needs some heavy editing and rewriting. There are a lot of words missing, words written twice, and grammar errors that I noticed. Also the writing is very jumbled and confusing. For example, I didn’t know I was reading in the perspective of cat in the first chapter until a whole page in. The family tree is very confusing and should’ve been explained in maybe a prologue, instead of the MC just rambling on about it randomly in the second chapter. A lot of the characters really lacked common sense and would assume or do some really stupid things without being rational. Also the reasoning behind why they can’t practice their magic is kind of lame. The story was just very muddled and confusing. Overall, the premise was cute and silly and I was hoping for something similar to Sabrina the Teenage Witch. There were some decent moments, but the writing wasn’t that great and the story really dragged on. I hope the story will be written better before it’s launch!

First off, I want to say that the author is one of my best friends and I’m so proud of her for this book! But with that being said, I will not be biased in my review.

I want to start off with talking about the things I enjoyed about the book. I really liked the characters. Elara is the main character of the story and starts off as a spy for her kingdom. But I enjoyed her character growth into wanting to be the leader that she was meant to be. The other characters had their own fun twists as well through out the story. The plot was also very intriguing. Definitely left you wondering and trying to guess what twists and turns were about to come next.

Now for my critiques about the story. I wish there was a lot more world building. I know sometimes reading that can be boring, but unfortunately with very little world building I was left with a blank slate. I wish I knew more about the land and each kingdom, learned more about the history of it, what each place looked like, and what was unique about each kingdom to make them important along with how they each worked together to support one another. My imagination was just very lost when figuring out what to picture. Another critique would be some areas where info was repetitive and a few contradictions. There were quite a few plot points that were brought up very frequently and then there were others that were brought up, but suddenly facts changed which would be a little confusing.

Lastly, which this is something I blame the publisher for, there were quite a few errors. It honestly made me wonder if they even had an editor read it through. Again, I’m blaming the publisher and not the author for this. Here’s where I’ll be a bit biased: It was just something that really upset me, because I know how hard the author worked on this book. So to see something like that just felt really careless on the publisher’s part.

Overall, I had fun reading it! I’m very excited for the sequel and to see where the story of Creltis leads!

CW: curse words; will also leave you with a massive craving for grilled cheese and baked goods lol

OMG THIS BOOK!!!! I’ve been looking for just a cute fluffy romance with no explicit scenes and oh boy did this fit the bill. I absolutely LOVE this book and had the hardest time putting it down! Honestly I was hooked with the fact that teenagers are in a Twitter war over grilled cheese and that their names are Pepper and Jack (I adore puns and this was the best one I’ve ever seen lol.) But I really fell in love with the characters, especially Jack. Their situations really hit home with what it’s like to try to figure out your future and also feeling pressure from family members. It’s the most adorable romance! If I haven’t sold you yet, there’s also a sassy grandma. Who doesn’t love a sassy grandma?!

Anyways, this book really got me out of my reading slump; had me laughing and crying quite a few times. I already know I want to reread it! But for now I’m gonna go make a grilled cheese and look up a recipe on how to make this Monster Cake contraption. Next time add recipes! Lol

Trigger Warnings: Sexual abuse/rape, unexpected pregnancy, adultery, Animal abuse, Death, mentions of suicide, mind control

This book is very heavy. There were a lot of moments where I had to stop and take a breather. Otherwise, I liked it and found it very compelling. I’m very interested to see how the characters from this story interact with Gracelings. I really liked Fire’s character growth along with the strength and growth that she gave to everyone around her. Thankfully, there was a happy ending! I’m intrigued to see what happens in the next book.
