Just what I was in the mood for: light, low angst, and comforting, like a warm blanket on a rainy day! The characters actually communicated with one another and were up front and forthright, which I appreciated. Nice level of steam. Dual POVs from both the male and female leads (1st person, present tense), and the writing had a light, fun, causal style. It’s a pretty quick read, too. I nabbed this after seeing Rebekah Weatherspoon talk on a panel for romance authors presented by the New York Public Library — she kept cracking me up so I figured I should give her a read. I’m glad I did!
Very engaging, and I loved their sexual dynamic. It was a nice change from the usual alpha-male Domly Dom types, but still super hot! Also appreciated that these characters seemed realistic and had flaws and weaknesses, that they weren't Insta-model types, and that the unfolding love story felt believable and poignant. I'll have to read more by this author!
