I hate how little cardan and Jude are together. I just love them and their characters so much and their dynamic. This is my least favorite of the series, but I love this book for the same reasons I love the others. Jude Duarte is a queen and I love cardan with every fiber of my being. His depth and story that he has to offer as a character are brilliant. There is so much more we could learn about him and I never get tired of his banter and his personality.

THESE BOOKS changed my life. I love love love blacks writing style. The twists are so well done, they are surprising but we’ll set up. Her descriptions and language are phenomenal. Jude Duarte is such a compelling character unlike any other that I’ve read before. Her motives are flawed and so is she. Her morals are questionable but her POV is so well done that you go along with all of it. Her character development and journey is just so good.  Every character in this book is a dynamic one with so much depth and I love them all (or hate them, looking at you taryn). I could write essays about the style, setting, and themes of this book and how well it was done. I could talk about these books forever.

I couldn’t put this book down but I also found it so frustrating. I hate books that force the love interests out of proximity from each other to cause conflict. And there were some miscommunication instances. Ugh. Cool story though.

I’m a sucker for fairytale retellings and this one did not disappoint. The characters had depth and I really enjoyed watching the relationship grow. Pirates and princes and mermaids and adventures… sign me up.

I can’t lie and say I didn’t like this book but not do I wish I could. It was fun and I like the characters. (For now) the plot is pretty interesting but I found out this is going to be a six book series and idk if I like the world enough to stick through it that much.

This was such a new kind of read for me and I really liked it. It left me thinking about it often and I love the journey the characters go on together.

Seriously love this book. The characters are refreshing and real. They are flawed and imperfect and fit their lifestyles to a T. The romance was perfect. Just the right amount of emotion and angst and fluff and everything else. Levensellar really shines with that in her stories. The setting was so fun and I find myself trying to find something similar to fill the void it’s left with me.
