I just love women, okay?
There was some miscommunication between Opal and Pepper and bad decisions made by Opal in the first 100 pages that kind of drove me up the wall, but the sweetness of sapphic love and the banter and Mazey Eddings’ writing were all so cumulatively good that I forgive those dumbass parts.

Toshikazu Kawaguchi punched me in the stomach and stole my lunch money (metaphorically). The perfect balance between life can be so hard and love doesn’t stop those hard things from occurring, but it still matters that the love exists.

Entertaining in the way that I loved the Yellow Ribbon as a kid (i.e. fantastically morbid). A surprising amount of stories are repetitive and a handful are explicitly anti-Semitic or racist towards Black people.

Honestly very good. Considering I've been duped into reading classics before and hated the experience, this was funny and thoughtful and at some point I'll probably finish it. Now just isn't the time.

Genuinely never read something quite this bad, and yet I’m sharing a copy with my lovely friends Sisterhood-of-the-Traveling-Pants style and that makes it possibly the greatest book? Perspective.

Different premise and tone than I was expecting. The banter is fantastic and frankly the sexiest part. Some plot details felt illogical, but ya know what? I was entertained nonetheless

Annotations weren’t as insightful as I’d hoped. Decided to read the unannotated, but full version instead

Amazingly written. The details and word building are crazy. The humanity of each character and the ultimate message of community for survival 10/10

Objectively very good. Just not in the mood for contemporary romance right now. I do want to come back to it
