In terms of form and structure - I felt like this was so groundbreaking. I couldn’t put it down! Incredible storytelling.

Shamefully - didn’t know much about the war in Bosnia before reading this and wooooooow god did this get me right in the feels! Shed a couple of tears at the end - loved it!

Suspense is truly Colleen’s calling but her style of writing is not for me.

Heavy with so many different types of emotions and I love how Claire just asks the reader to stop and ponder them for a while. Beautiful collection - she’s so bloody talented.

I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I originally would. The story was incredibly unique and I loved the different timelines.

I thought the descriptions were absolutely breathtaking - but, I have to say I was a bit bored with the last 50 pages. I was expecting something to happen between the characters but it sort of plateaued for me.
