Not holding my attention at all. And he seems like a caricature, I’m just not liking him as a character.

I was very much so NOT the target audience for this.

He was so angry the whole time and drunk and creepy and UGH. And why did it feel like he had a weird sexual tension with every single female vampire?? I listened to the last 1/2 of it on 2x speed just to get it over with quicker.

The only reason this isn’t one star is because the last couple of chapters were a little bit more interesting. Honestly I think it was partially the fact that I listened to this on audio that I dislike it so much, the narrator was not my favorite. Overall, it wasn’t worth it for me.

AHHH so good. audio was fantastic & I loved the shift from this being an easy ya series to being a more serious fantasy epic. lysandra’s relationship with Aelin will always be one of my favorites. And manon??? Her character growth in this one is phenomenal.

Chaol sux at the beginning of this but you can also see where he’s coming from, his own journey through grief & disappointment is so good. Love love love.

this one might be my favorite of the series. okay i lied, there’s no “might be,” it is my favorite.

i assumed it was going to follow the same basic structure of the first two books, so when i suddenly realized it wasn’t?? plot twist of the century. the gasp i gusped was so loud people probably heard it a mile away.

such a beautiful story about familial and romantic love, connection, and figuring out to trust again. it broke me & put me back together. so much pack pack pack and green relief and grass and lake water and sunshine. 12/10. i’m so happy Robbie finally realized he’s found somewhere he belongs & is wanted.

still a comfort read & might be a comfort listen now lol. celaena’s emotional arc in this book is one of my favorite character developments i’ve ever read. and meeting manon??? she gets funnier every time. “I have never felt any emotion but anger and vengeance in my whole life but every time i see my coven or my wyvern something weird happens in my chest.”

the lady Marion story kills me every time but it might have been easier this go around since i wasn’t hindered by the tears/sobs since i was listening instead of having to actually use my eyes.

loved this story this time & every time.

this was such an easy 5 stars.

we know i really really struggle with second chance romance books, but this??? these two men being separated by years and years of anger and resentment and so much love worked so well for me. tj klune does such a good job at making you feel all those emotions without having his characters wax poetic for pages and about exactly how they feel. he just shows it though his characters’ actions and it’s so well done.

i love love LOVED getting gordo’s point of view of the years on the hunt and the years that the bennett’s first came back to green creek. and mark is so babygirl?? he seemed so intense & “cool” in wolfsong but seeing a teenage version was hilarious.

i loved that characters that seemed perfect and infallible in wolfsong were seen though other’s points of view and exposed how many mistakes they really did make. especially in the case of thomas bennett. we really do learn how many things he really did get wrong, even if he had the best of intentions. he’s still a great man, just messed up massively for gordo & mark.

i loved mark & gordo’s story and i especially loved the feeling of pack pack pack that we got in this book. the book is so emotional and frankly dark at some points but has just enough comic relief to make it bearable. ravensong really was a story about families, whether it’s the one you’re born into or the one you make.

once again, this was such an easy read that pulls you in and makes you feel like you are a direct part of the action. the overall plot was amazing and so unexpected. this was such a quick read, mostly because i didn’t put the book down for days. 12/10, will definitely read again.

cute story, but I didn’t really love the narrator. her “man” voice kept pulling me out of the story and jesse honestly sounded kinda like zuko to me lol

there was zero introduction to the characters, every time a new background tidbit or something was relayed it was done in a way that seemed like I should have already known this. It felt like the characters were supposed to have depth but it was coming up lacking? idk. not for me.

how is this my first tj klune book?? it truly was like candy canes and pinecones. epic and awesome.

this is how you write a shifter book! ahh it was so good. found family x1000. pack and familial love and protection and understanding and ugh i’m a sucker for that. ox & joe are both fantastic complex characters (honestly they all are). you are rooting for them every moment even when they are fully acting their age and driving you crazy for it. these two had both been through so many different yet horrible experiences but still were working on themselves. watching them grow up from boys to men was such a privilege to experience. i can’t get over how much character growth happened in this. i laughed, i cried, i raged, i really got the experience the full range of human emotions here lol.

ox & joe are the main characters, but klune does such a phenomenal job creating connections between you as the reader and all the side characters. no one seems unimportant or unnecessary, the bennett family & the guys at the garage were such a treat to get to know.

AND THE IMAGERY?? friends. i love the way tj klune conveys emotion so much i don’t think i can ever adequately explain it. everything feels so real and visceral. i fear i will never recover.

this book was easy to read & understand but had such depth to it. it’s easily one of my favorite books of the year. 12/10 recommend.
