Mother Pucker by Swati M.H.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 31%.
He sexually harasses her at her job and apparently that’s flirting?? And this wasn’t a hot “patient doctor taboo romance” thing, they’re just being dumb. And why would she think “make yourself at home” means take a gd bubble bath??!???? So ridiculous.

another cute one, but the side characters are becoming unbearable and no one is being put in their place. and Cortney had so many characteristics that were coming and going at random moments. At first he was sorta grumpy with anxiety, but that was suddenly gone & he was a sweetheart with overwhelming confidence? it just felt like whenever the characteristics were remembered they were readded. plus, Dylan should have been SO much more angry with Beckett and his meddling. That drove me insane. Just because conflict is uncomfortable sometimes doesn’t mean it should be totally avoided in a story???

it was cute, and good for breaking out of a slump. but for it being called a “grumpy boss” book, homeboy was not a grump?? at all??? and the amount of miscommunication was ridiculous. so many moments were built up just for the offended party to be like “actually i was never mad at all.” if anything, it felt like the author just didn’t know where to go with some conflicts so they just used unwavering forgiveness as the solution.

sometimes you just need a cheesy bodice ripper. & this one is TOP tier, everytime i read it i love it more, but also am more disappointed in myself. it’s just so good but such a ridiculous story. I can’t help but love it??

*MILD SPOILERS IN THIS REVIEW*
Okay i LOVED this book. Viggo is my soul character. His adhd moments spoke to me in a way that no other character has ever done. Swapping between hobbies like crazy, starting different endeavors so often you feel like your accomplishments won’t mean as much to family because they might think it’s just a hobby instead of something you’re actually serious about. All his moments where he was nervous and just rambled and overshared and was nervous about being seen as “too much” was terrifyingly relatable, I’ve never felt so seen.

I know I keep talking about viggo, but a chronically single romance book lover with adhd is literally how my mother describes me to her friends.

The romance was impeccably done, watching Tallulah grow into someone who was afraid of love to someone go shows it so willingly and Viggo go from someone who realizes that finding and falling in love isn’t necessarily a lightening bolt moment but made up of little moments was such a privilege.

The mini Bergman sister’s summit was such a sweet moment, and watching Viggo finally get his Bergman Brothers Summit was something I’ve been looking forward to for so many books now, I’m so glad it finally happened.

Definitely my favorite of the series!!

The only reason it’s 4.5 stars and not 5 is because I feel like so much of the personal growth tallulah went through was done behind the scenes. There were time jumps of a week or more where she “had gone through so much growth” but i was just straight up told about it and not SHOWN if that makes sense?? But genuinely, this is such a phenomenal story and I am already recommending it to everyone who will listen so they can read it when it comes out.

I really really loved this one. I read the dead romantics and wasn’t the biggest fan of that, but this made me see why people love Ashley Poston books so much. Just wish there was more!

that was so much better than i expected.

“Take responsibility for your own unhappiness. If you don’t love your life, change it.” was such a brutal thing to read in what I expected to be a cute little short story that had no hard hitting emotional moments lol. wish i was able to have more story!
