I started reading for the premise but stayed for the characters.

First of all, I just would like to say that I REALLY LOVE the characters. Their background stories, behavior, personalities, and circumstances just mix perfectly. They're all fully fleshed out and it makes you appreciate them even more. Amazing, simply amazing.

Unfortunately, I had to admit I find it hard to finish the book because of the slow plot, although I think this is kinda on me because for the past few days, I'm realizing that slow-paced books aren't really for me. Anyway, I still think my rating honestly and objectively mirrors how I feel about this book.

For future readers, if you like academy themed books with enemies/bullies-to-lovers trope, fantasy/magic, and slow pacing, this is definitely for you! The writing is exquisite and you won't regret diving into the story. Highly recommended!

"Your beauty drives a man to madness. Watch, watch how I drag you down into that madness with me."

This book, simply put, is amazing! I love the characters, their dynamics, the spicy scenes, the tension and everything. I also love how funny the conversations are and the inner monologues. The ending was exquisitely done. There were just some parts I find a hard time reading through, but nothing that really made me drop the book. I'll be reading book 2 immediately. Highly recommended!

I love it!

I love it especially the ending and how the problem about Camellia was resolved. It felt authentic and gave the characters depth. I'm also happy the my mind finally settled on a clearer picture for the characters. Parting from this book is a sweet goodbye.

As amazing as book 1 is.

The 2nd book's pacing went just like in book 1. We discovered more about the characters and
finally added Daniel in the harem
. I found the twists really interesting and it kept me hooked on the story.

Sadly, I still have no clear idea what the characters phycially look like. The descriptions are still lacking... except for their delicious appendages and other traits. Anyway, I think I just have to stick to what my mind conjured, accuracy be dmned.

I'm off to read book 3!

Underrated.

Seriously, I can't believe this book isn't popular. The premise is really interesting and it gives a convenient foundation towards the spicier scenes. The world building is good and the overall court politics is intriguing. This books gives the perfect fantasy vibes.

My only gripe is the characters' descriptions. The idea and personality for each characters are pretty solid, but I cannot (like I really can't no matter how hard I try) picture them out. The physical descriptions are all over the place. I'm the kind of reader that needs a solid physical description to picture out the characters but even if I highlight all the descriptive parts, I still can't fully imagine them. I even tried searching for mood/inspo boards about this book but came up with nothing.

Overall, I'll still read the next book. Hopefully, that'll give me a clearer mental picture for the characters.

Wait... is this the end?!

I was so surprised when I saw that there'll be another story involving the same characters but with a different plot. I enjoyed the whole book up until that part. I was expecting that there'll be more about the Mors. Heck, I don't even know Shade's past yet. Does he have other relatives other than Kai? I'm thinking the story will bring us to the court of Flurry. I mean, it's a 7-book series.

The end is climactic... but as the final end for this plot? It's kinda meh. Maybe we'll see more about the world and characters in the next series. I haven't actually read the blurb yet for the next book, only that it'll revolve around a different story.

Anyway, I still think it's a fun read! I may need to take a break before reading the next installment, though, but it's definitely up on my list!

Less than 12 hours.

That's all it took for me to finish this book and I'm screaming for MORE! I can't wait to read book 4.

The story was amazing. Coal and River's character development were finely executed. I'm looking forward to seeing more of Tye, though we already had a glimpse of his past in this book. Shade was his usual adorable self.
Kora and Autumn's relationship was also refreshing.

The pace of the story and the twists kept everything interesting. The last chapters were chef's kiss. If you're still wondering if you want to dive into this series, this is your sign to start reading!

Did not finish book. Stopped at 55%.
I really tried.

The first few chapters were awesome, but reading the middle part was really hard. Perhaps medium-paced books aren't just really my thing. Perhaps I'm also just not really into contemporary books. Or maybe I'm a mood reader and the book simply didn't vibe with me.

Sadly, I have to drop this. I really tried to read it, to finish the series. I had fun at the beginning and I was invested already to the story but it just doesn't hold my interest anymore. I think I'll try to come back to this series some other time. Do a reread. Until then, I have to pause this book indefinitely.

Still, thank you for this wonderful story. I might not just be the right target reader.

Swoon.

This book is amazing! Do you want something with a plot? Do you want something with amazing and lovable characters? Do you want something that has spicy scenes? Then this is the book for you!

We have:
• Fae Shifters (wolf and tiger)
• Pyromaniac ml
• Alpha commander with cold exterior but soft personality
• Fae prince
• Bonds
• Great world building
• Medium-burn story with lots of swoon-worthy scenes

I'm definitely reading book 2 ♡
