Pawsitively Poisonous (A Witch of Edgehill Mystery #1)
MC Amber Blackwood, owns a curiosity, tea and tonic shop called the Quirky Whisker, an important part of the cat centric community in Edgehill, Oregon. Shortly after this book begins Amber's best friend is found dead, holding clutched in her hand, one of Amber's tonics. Of course the police chief doesn't like Amber, so she sets out to find out who killed her friend.
I enjoyed the this story quite a bit and mystery unfolded in unexpected ways. This was a light and fun, cozy mystery series and I liked the friendships built up in this book. I'm looking forward to reading the next in the series.
Pawsitively Cursed (A Witch of Edgehill Mystery, #2)
MC Amber Blackwood's parents died in a house fire fourteen years ago and Amber is sure that the fire was deliberately set by a rival clan, the Penhallows, who were cursed for stealing magic from other witches, but no one has seen or heard from the Penhallows, since the night Amber's parents died. Of course, that means it's time for them to return and Amber has to look out for not just herself, but her Aunt and sister.
This story wasn't as light, but the mystery was good and the story was entertaining and it built on the friendships from the first book. I'm looking forward to reading the next in the series.
Recommended for fans of a cozy paranormal mystery.
Pawsitively Secretive (A Witch of Edgehill Mystery, #3)
The small town of Edgehill, Oregon and MC Amber Blackwood are racing to prepare for the Here and Meow Festival. Shortly after Amber speaks with Chloe, the mayor’s daughter, who Amber used to babysit when she was in high school, goes missing. Did the boy she was speaking to online take her? Did her father do something to her? Amber, working along with Chief Brown, puts her magic to work to help find and save Chloe.
This story a return to the more cozy feel of the first book, (once we know the girl is not in THAT kind of danger.) The mystery was intriguing and the story kept me on the edge of my seat. I love the further development of Amber's friendships in this book, it's feeling more like she has a full support network and that's fun to read. I'm looking forward to reading the next in the series.

OMG, this book was awesome. Maybe better than The Martian? I loved the ending. I'm going to start it over again, because I'm not ready to say goodbye to Grace and Rocky.

This book begins with out MC Deandra visiting her cousin in a hidden magical city in California, called Axia, where various magical people and creatures live in "hubs" away from the mundane humans. Deandra is mundane and with her life in LA sucking, her cousin, Wendy invites her to Axia and so begins the adventures of non-magical Deandra's first visit to one of these towns. Of course there's culture shock, childlike wonder, and a little shock.
This book ticked all my favorite boxes: Cozy Mystery, Mythical Familiar like Pet, Hidden World, Magic, Baby Dragon
I really enjoyed the way the story and mystery unfolded. This was a delightfully light, and fun, cozy mystery series debut with an entertaining cast of characters. I'm really looking forward to reading the next in the series.

Did not finish.
Graphic: Animal cruelty, Animal death, Death, Racial slurs, Violence
I read through the murder of the pitbulls guarding their home. I was pissed off but kept reading. I full on stopped at the murder of the ex-wife's dog, who was skinned and spit roasted in the backyard. Skink isn't funny. It's the worst of Florida Man, with a 1980's flavor.

Another visit to Rosemond Street!, I love this so much. Ambrose Beake and Eli are back and Ambrose is set to attend and sit on a panel in the country’s Potion Convention. Dawn is flirting with a beautiful journalist. When Ambrose is kidnapped right out from under the noses of our Rosemond Street crew, this book becomes a divided POV between Ambrose and his kidnappers and Eli, Dawn and the Rosemond Street crew, working to get him back.
This book is the perfect example of a cozy fantasy having conflict and serious stakes, while still maintaining the cozy feel. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.

Our MC Hazel just had a wicked break up with a cheating jerk fiancé who caused her to lose her job at his family's business. Her Mom is awful and she's not close to her sister so she decides to take a vacation and visit her Uncle's town in a secluded area of the mountains, for the first time ever, and see the place where her father grew up.
The town is a small, tight-knit community where there's one school, one teacher, everyone eats meals together and they all seem to follow her uncle's commands, which seems more than a little cult-ish. On top of that, her Uncle is super strict about where she can go and doesn't want her going anywhere alone.
So of course, Hazel instantly finds herself drawn to Slate, her uncle's moody assistant, and very quickly decides she wants to move her whole life to this town. Just as obviously, her uncle wants her to leave. Totally foreseen things happen, and she learns the secrets of the town, and it puts her in danger because, "humans can't know." Chaos, a kidnapping, romance and spice follows...
This book was fun, I found the characters to be a bit flat and underdeveloped, but it’s understandable as this was a debut novel. I expect this series will improve as she gets in her groove. I gave this a solid 3 stars, I will probably pick up the second in the series when I'm more in the mood for a Fantasy romance, but I doubt this will ever be a reread.
What I didn't like: I grabbed this because it was listed as Cozy and it is NOT a cozy. Even the original title was "Campfires & Canines: Stand Alone Cozy Fantasy Rom-Com". Not being a Cozy wouldn’t have kept me from reading this, but it really didn't fit my current mood. YMMV.
This book has violence, a kidnapping, guns, child abuse/ physical abuse, and threats of SA. It isn't dark per se, or graphic but the elements are there and that makes it NOT A COZY. This was more of a paranormal or fantasy romance with suspense, action with a thriller-esque feel.

Lucina has settled in as the baker in Rydding Village, after fleeing her former country when political unrest put her life at risk. She's finally able to sleep through the night without nightmares, when a newcomer from her home country arrives and she fears he's come for her. Then, things start to go missing around the village and the villagers all start pointing fingers.
I loved the mystery, the continued developments in the relationship between Bryn and Elwyn and the expanded community of Rydding Village. This was a soothing and sweet cozy fantasy, perfect for fans of a Weary Dragon Inn Series, as it has a similar feel.

This was a most delightful cozy fantasy! I love how welcoming the villagers of Rydding were in inviting Elwyn, who was in desperate need, into their fold when she arrived. The mystery of the village seems to be low stakes, but innate and I'm looking forward to the slow reveal in the coming books. I especially adored the house helper.
This was soothing and sweet, perfect for fans of a good cozy.
