Updated review, as my first read was Kindle, the addition of a fabulous narrator took this over the top. It was already a 5 star read for me, but this was even better. I love how Riley saves Garth, but then seeing that Nash needs someone, gives Garth to him. It totally wasn't random, I wasn't sure if I was reading into it in my first read. Riley has built quite the family and I'm looking forward to more Helen and the witches, Nash, Dez and Volkov (I'm not forgetting Kali and Craig).

Original Review: More Riley!

Heist books are a favorite of mine and LA McBride more than delivers. Riley is funny, endearing and exactly the goat shifter you'd want at your back in a heist. This was a great second book and I'm really excited to find out more about Riley's origins and more!

Read this is you like UF with feisty and kick ass female MCs, found family, heists of all kinds, and a dark magical underworld (we're just scraping the top off of.)

Bev and the folks in Pigsend have finished with their regular calamities and adventures. The time has come to bid them all and The Weary Dragon Inn a fond farewell. The actual overthrowing of the Queen felt too fast in wrapping up with less detail than I'd have liked, however it stayed cozy and true to the feel of the series so far so it was satisfying nonetheless.

Overall a great series and one I will likely revisit.

Excellent Japanese mythology inspired Urban Fantasy, set in the San Francisco Bay Area that takes a somewhat broken FMC trying to start a new life far from home.    Emiko Soong was the Butcher of Beijing where she worked for her father, the head of one of the eight dragon clans.

The pacing is a bit inconsistent, but overall I really enjoyed this and will recommend it to fans of UF. I will absolutely be buying and reading more in this series.
