my calc teacher gave my class this book as a recommendation and a couple of us in the class have been reading it as our own little book club. i’m so glad i was able to read it and that i’m able to experience and talk about it with others in the class.

it’s such an amazing and interesting story and even though it’s based so much around space travel and science the explanations from Grace throughout the whole book make it easy to understand or at least follow along.

there was never a boring part of this book for me and i never knew the twists and turns that came up in the book. this book is legendary and i wish i could read it again for the first time because it was an amazing experience.

a wonderful book that reflects on humanity and the anxieties of everyday life and how they can overtake your mind if you let them. it’s a fantastic story but it’s a lot to read emotionally so make sure you’re in a better mind if you start reading this.

i hate this book, read it for book club and speed read it just so i could be done with it sooner. i understand that we’re not supposed to like eden and that she’s supposed to be complicated and a conflicted person but she is literally so annoying with every interaction she has and a lot of the background characters/eden’s friends feel like they do nothing. especially steve and cameron, they don’t really have any background to them which is annoying. near the end of the book things started feeling better for me but i just really don’t like this book and i hate how the ending
leaves off with a STUPID CLIFF ENDING WHERE ITS JUST EDEN HOPING ABOUT THE FUTURE!!! it feels like she doesn’t change at the end except for the fact that she’s beginning to tell people about what happened. it takes a lot to tell what happened i understand that but i just wish there was more growth shown with eden or at least eden telling her parents/friends, because she never apologizes to anyone except amanda, she just hopes that the future is better and it’s so annoying <spoiled>

i loved this book. my art teacher made some art for the book just for fun and used it as an example in class for thumbnailing/the art process and i thought it would be a good read because after his presentation it just kept appearing around me.

i’m so glad i read it, it’s such a sad and emotional book. i went to the park for a nice read but ended up sobbing page after page and didn’t stop until i was done because of how amazing it is. i highly recommend this book but i also warn you that it is very sad and makes me want to hug my mom more and makes me wish i was better to my dad before he died.

interesting take on apocalypse, enjoyable plot and story line but some of the ending was a bit confusing i really thought
that the skin left to fry at the demon camp would mean that demons were also using human skin to disguise themselves as humans and to invade the castles for plague
the story was still enjoyable but the ending just feels a little rushed/nothing really changing

i loved the book but didn’t enjoy how meg was just there to be seen as a pretty face and for most of her interactions to be her talking about boys or flirting with boys.

i hate this book, i read it for book club and it was such a slow and bothersome read. the characters are introduced as stereotypes which was already annoying but i thought maybe that the author was trying to make a point about how the town is obsessed with the law and following rules, NO

ALL THE CHARACTERS ARE JUST ANNOYING TROPES THAT DONT GET BETTER!!

the author tries to write character development but half of the characters (trip, izzy, moody, etc) don’t really matter in the book and are tied to important characters like mia or mrs richardson but they don’t change or are only used to progress others.

i didn’t enjoy the personalities of the characters or the plot of the book, it was very bland even when the baby trial was happening. the best part of the book was mia’s childhood, but other than that i found it somewhat boring to read.
