I'm blown away!
The endgame was epic. I loved reading about those motherfuckers as Lana collected her debt. Although it seemed a bit quick for Logan to pick Lana's side after knowing she's Victoria but I guess it played out quite alright. I preferred more conflictions and mind-fuckery.
And I totally didn't expect Jake's father to be the original killer. Nope. Didn't see that coming. Maybe more so because we were never shown anything related to him in any way that would suggest that he might be the killer. But nonetheless I was surprised.
And the ending was nice and I liked it. Jake and Hadley's relationship about them having threesome with random guys and girls weirded me out. I mean that's just not my thing at all but who am I to judge?
Also, the thing about Logan giving murderers to Lana to kill to fulfil her desires once a year and him justifying him like that felt a lot like he was just blinded in love. That didn’t seem rational and natural at all but Hey! We love seeing bad guys' asses being kicked right? Or them getting castrated...

I am shook and disgusted after reading about everything that happened with Victoria, Marcus and their father. That was too much for them. Now I'm even more glad to know that the perpetrators suffered such torture from the hands of Lana. Our girl served them best.
The torture of Kyle was brutal but satisfying. I even felt a bit disappointed with myself for liking it but you see, I have no regrets. I enjoyed it. I loved it.
I liked the confliction going on among the agents, especially Leonard, about whether this serial killer was right or wrong. Ever since Lana killed Hollis, I knew that Leonard knew that Lana killed him. (Why does all of their names start with L though?)
Also, although I do understand why Logan was furious after knowing the truth, I still don't understand his actions. Like why the angry sex? That felt unnecessary.

“Well, their mouths were sewed shut, as you know, but when we opened them, we found the missing penises.”
My jaw dropped.
This book was by far my favorite one out of the series. The plot is great and I'm rooting for Lana & Jake and their revenge. I also love the relationship between Hadley and Lana, it was an unexpected turn of events but I'm liking it a lot. I could've given this book 5 stars but the only major thing stopping me is the romance. I just can't feel connected to Lana and Logan's relationship. Well that's why I despise Insta love because they never give the readers the opportunity to root for the characters. Other than that, this book was great.

A good book and I support all the wrongs and rights of Lana.
Jk jk.
Unless....
It could've been better if the romance wasn't too focused upon. Like if I'm looking forward to read a book about a serial killer with an FBI agent as her love interest, I want her to manipulate him or take advantage of him for her sake but that doesn't happen here. So I guess maybe it'll happen in the next books in the series or I'll be left disappointed. But whatever it may be, I'm liking the story as of now.

"Sometimes dead is better"
"Cause what you buy is what you own, and what you own......always comes home to you."
I'm shook.
When I was reading it, I wasn't expecting this book to affect me on this extent. This book got an eerie vibe, almost an attractive creepy vibe. I can feel it as though the Pet Sematary was real and coming for me now that I have known about it. This book truly twisted my mind and grew on me.
It's crushing, devastating, gruesome and horrifying. And King already tells you the events before they happen, so you know what's gonna happen but when it does happen, it terrifies you. That's what this book is. Terrifying.
This book will hit everyone differently and people will be scared of it for different reasons. If a teenager reads it just to get scared, he probably won't be scared much since it's a slow-build story which makes you spend time with the characters, especially Louis. But if an adult with a family (especially kids) or someone who had their loved one torn out of their life reads it, they for sure will be horrified. King had done it! The concept of grieving and going through the loss of a family member is written so well it almost feels like home. And what's more scary is that it is inspired from his real life. People are surely gonna be skeptical about having kids or their safety after reading this. It's this thought-provoking.
Louis Creed is a well-written morally grey character. You know he's not the perfect guy but he isn't the bad guy either. He slowly loses his sanity throughout the story and you have no choice but to sympathize with him. And the ending! People always talks about how Stephen King doesn't know how to write a good ending (which I find true in some cases *cough* IT) but the ending of this story was a deal-maker for me. I liked it a lot. And you probably know what's gonna happen next because he writes it down for you but it's a bit vague so you try to imagine a happy ending but it just isn't possible. God I loved it.
This will probably stay one of my favourites in the Horror genre for a long time (probably for my lifetime). And the fact that this novel couldn't have existed if King didn't owe the publisher a book? I'm so glad it happened.

After completing the story, I couldn't bring myself to finish the extras when I realised that this was going to be my last encounters with Wangxian. These books had emotionally affected me somehow and it's hard to let them go. But now after almost 2 months, I finally decided to finish the volume.
“Lan Zhan! Lan Wangji! Hanguang-jun! I…I genuinely wanted to sleep with you earlier!”
Yeah he's a dumbass. Picked the best place and time.
But then he confessed properly and oh How much I was longing for it to happen since such a long time. And LWJ repeating those words to him while embracing him tight was heartwarming. Finally. They deserved that. I cried happy tears.
After getting to know the story behind the discipline whips scars and the brand on LWJ's chest, I'm speechless. I don't know what to say. To think that LWJ loved him all along, like that.
Wangxian's story is so emotional and heartwarming like can you imagine waiting for your lover for 13 years who's dead and you don't even know if he'll come back so you're literally just suffering and coping with it? He started questioning the morals, the whites and blacks for WWX. WWX did a lot of mistakes and had a lifetime of regrets but LWJ still defended him, protected him, saved him, cared for him, loved him and chose to walk the single plank bridge with him. I mean bro, this guy is just really something else. Get a man like LWJ. Their story was awesome, the pacing was awesome. WWX was such a fun character and a well-written one. It was amazing. I love these two.
I love the fact that the story itself isn't about homosexuality as a concept but about pure love which just happened to be between two men.
Jiang cheng is such a complex well-written character. Earlier, I was annoyed by him but after reading about their past and everything, I'm at loss of words. And the fact that he too gave himself up deliberately to save WWX from the Wen Cultivators, it was shocking and yet true to his character.
And as expected, Jin Guangyao was a complex villain with a dark past which turned him evil. He really had a way with his words, as I found myself sympathizing for him regardless of the atrocious crimes he committed. His father could be held accountable for everything that JGY turned out to be. JGY could have been good if things were better for him. But yes, the things that he did were unacceptable. He was a vicious villain.
The reunion of A-Yuan and Wangxian was heartwarmng. And yes, it's always fun to see WWX's interaction with the juniors. I'm 100% sure that Sizhui would grow up to become a great man just like his dads.
'There was really no way to predict what would come out of this man’s mouth, especially considering how he had even gone so far as to shout in public about wanting to bed Hanguang-jun.'
This just summed up his personality in a single sentence. He's so witty and quick with his words. I really loved WWX's dialogues throughout the series. He made me laugh and and sad. But most of all, he made me love him. He's such a great character. And of course, he's the best at flirting with LWJ.
And Istg LWJ is so cute! The way he kept asking LXC about picking the lotus seeds and eating watermelon rinds by stir-frying them. I couldn't help but giggle. It was evident that he was thinking about eating them with WWX. And also the things they did in Yunmeng. God, I was giggling the whole time. He snared him, that was literally so romantic. There's something about this story that's so romantic than all the only few romances I've read. I know I've said it before a lot of times already but I'm in love with these two.
“You can try and see if I would deny you anything now,” Lan Wangji said.
Tell me that it isn't one of the most romantic things I've read. Okay maybe I'm over reacting. But I just can't help it. I'm gonna miss these two so much!
Oh lord, it's hard to say goodbye.(╥﹏╥)

I'm not well.
It's not that subtle but LWJ's words clearly has more meaning to them. It just feels like he doesn't know what to say or how to say but his intentions reflect in his actions and expressions that are sometimes hardly noticeable.
WWX had the worst of luck. Nothing good ever happened to him. He was always misjudged and misunderstood.
"He hadn’t thought about killing Jin Zixuan. Not at all . He had never intended to kill Jin Zixuan at all! It was just that, for some reason, he’d somehow failed to control Wen Ning in that moment… He had suddenly lost control!"
"Why in the world did I have to strand myself at the Burial Mounds for all these years? he asked himself. Why must I be subjected to all this? Why did i have to go down this path in the first place? Why must I do this to myself? How does everyone else see me? What, exactly, have I gotten out of any of this? Am I crazy? Am I crazy? Am I crazy?!
If only he had never chosen this path to begin with."
I don't even know what to say. The whole scene of him and Wen Qing and Wen Ning in the cave was sad. And if that wasn't enough, when Jiang Yanli died, it was the breaking point. I cried. What WWX did was not right, indeed but I Don't know how to feel about it. It's really unfortunate and depressing. I'm at loss of words. I sympathize with him. But then again, what he did was still not right. But his actions were a bit justified and that's what throws me in this turmoil.
But then we moved back to the present, and it was heartwarming to see the juniors following WWX. It was cute. That scene on the boat as well, the way they blushed.
"Wei Wuxian rubbed his neck, feeling secretly delighted and smug even as he lamented to himself. Ahh, Lan Zhan is honestly… Had I known this would happen, I wouldn’t have woken up. I could have lain in his arms the entire journey if I was still out cold."
Yes. They're just friends. Of course.
I needed to read about their date! Just confess already. The art was so good!
"He wasn’t scared of falling. He had fallen many times over the years. But hitting the ground still hurt. How wonderful it would be if there was someone there to catch him."
"Jiang-shushu, Madam Yu—it’s me again, here to disturb your peace. I really wanted to bring this person here to show him to you, though. Please consider those two bows our wedding bows to the Heaven, the Earth, the father, and the mother. So please—help me lock this guy down first. Let me owe you the third and final wedding bow for now. I’ll find a chance to make good on it in the future…"
God! They're just friends. No doubt.
That reveal about WWX transferring his golden core to JC was shocking. He really suffered those insults and pains just for JC. WWX deserved better.
The gay panic of WWX in the last chapter was fun to read. And I've said it before many times that drunk Lan Zhan was cute but that bath scene! My lord I wasn't prepared!

It just gets better and better!
This book doesn't fail to make me cry. I cried when Wei wuxian was whipped and when Jiang clan was massacred because of that bitch. Jiang Cheng begging his mom to stop before she cut off his arm fanned the flames for me. And the fact that Wei Wuxian was blamed for what happened to Jiang Clan was just too much. How does Wei Wuxian maintain his composure after hearing and bearing such things. And after enduring everything that happened to him, it was kinda natural that he'd take the demonic path. Lan Zhan clearly knew that it would corrupt his body and soul and he was worried for him. The difference between Yiling Patriarch and WWX was huge.
"Don’t worry, I’m not into guys."
Oh you bet. And Lan Zhan being jealous was so cute.
“Do not flirt with others when you have no deeper intent,” “You do as you please and throw their hearts into turmoil!”
Yeah Lan zhan we get it.
"Boys always bully the ones they’re sweet on. They just want their undivided attention.” Wei Wuxian’s smile froze at those words.
THE WAY I CACKLED.
The book was heavy on flashbacks but I wanted to read about the present time, maybe because then I'd get to see some sweet moments between then. The moment when WWX tried to recreate the scene of his family with LWJ. And when he was happy that he was the only one to hear that song. And when he was excited and his heart flowed with indescribable delight after pouncing on LWJ. And imagining the life after retirement with him with a "little one". And all that teasing and heart fluttering. Ah! When will you realise you dense bitch?
Also, the kiss! The art was damn good. I didn't know that LWJ had it in him!

Ahh!! It just got better than the last book.
The Yi city arc was so good. It was so fun seeing Wei Wuxian mentoring the juniors. That was cute. I legit cried when Song Lan was killed and when song lan and xiao xingchen fought. That was so sad. Damn you Xue Yang. I don't care how traumatic his past was, it doesn't justify whatever he did. The death of those soulmates shattered my heart to pieces.
But I was recovered real soon by what happened after the Yi City arc. Lan Zhan being drunk is cute, them playing tag and the kiss. I never thought that I would root for romance so much.
Jin Guangyao is such a smart bitch. It's almost admirable. He really knows how to play the victim card and a charming well wisher all at the same time. And I think Nie Mingjue really needed to calm down. He was always angry and ready to fight. Lan Xichen was the purest and calmest person I saw in this series.
Wei Wuxian really got to be the unluckiest person in this series. Now when he was about to expose the Cultivation chief, due to the revelation of his identity, now every blame has turned upon him. And Jin Guangyao was fanning the flames. The book literally ended at that moment?? I can't stop myself from reading the third volume now.
Also, THIS.
When everyone was praising him out of fear, Lan Wangji rebuked him to his face. When everyone spat and hated on him, Lan Wangji stood by his side.
