Building a StoryBrand, by Dane Woodard

Not the best information on branding. Whereas every single brand has different online marketing needs, the author advises to always use Facebook and Google Plus. This, however, would not be efficient for all businesses. It is, however, very quick, which is nice!

Whereas the message of the story is supposed to be uplifting and loving, it came across as a little preachy at times. The talking cat and the bookshop make up for a lot, but I felt as though the writer did not use an intersectional lens when talking about love for books. The publisher is publishing lots of books, but that also means that more people are able to afford and read these books. The portrayal of grief, however, was well-done. Moreover, I loved to hear from the translator at the end.

Een verhaal waar ik in mijn persoonlijke ontwikkeling veel aan zal hebben. De persoonlijke verhalen brachten me tranen in de ogen, maar schudden me ook wakker. Iedereen, ook sterke en uitgesproken feministen, kan partnergeweld meemaken. De informatieve stukken brachten de lezer inzichten die je in de meeste verhalen niet vindt. Het boek geeft de lezer de taal om diens eigen leven onder de loep te nemen. Herkenning en erkenning van eigen ervaringen worden hiermee ondersteund. De schrijfstijl leest makkelijk weg, al had ik hier en daar graag wat mooier taalgebruik gezien. Persoonlijke stijl is dat. 
Wees voorzichtig met het aanraden van dit boek, al denk ik dat het voor velen de ogen kan openen.

Gripping story of a young girl's fight with her own mind. It starts as a somewhat feminist YA literary novel but descends into the dark parts of a person's mind. A true journey to have experienced, but a very cautious recommendation. Please check the constent warnings before reading.
