Did not finish book. Stopped at 8%.
Not a fan of multigenerational books that are heavy on characters and little action.

My first manga, and once I figured out the reading sequence I loved it! Interesting spin on a who-dunnit, more like a how-dunnit!

A heartbreakingly beautiful mix of brutal realities of violence and addiction as well as humour and resilience. Indigenous magic and self discovery are woven in to create tense action and page-turning intrigue!

Ever read a book that is really good and REALLY grinds your gears because you wanna scream at the characters? This!!
Interesting narrative style of a narrator telling a story to the audience gathered in the story. And I deeply dislike her, but then you forget it’s a story within the story, and then BAM! You remember it’s her again!!
So good!

I didn’t know anything about Lara Love, and this is a really great memoir! Such an interesting story and well crafted! She narrates her audiobook and crushed it.

Love the story around raising a coven, but the center being the amazing women (and their back stories) who are the heart of it all.
I’m not usually a fan of character-led pieces, but I really liked how we learned about characters through the plot and situations they find themselves in (and that there were so many to learn about, but just one).
A good amount of thrill and action to balance the core themes!

Ohhhh this is good!!! It’s like Babel and Sword of Kaigen merged into a masterpiece!
Is it a little on the nose with its themes of feminism, class, bigotry, and power? Yes. Does that detract from the creative world, intense plot, and engaging characters? No!
