This was sooo entertaining!!! Love psychological horror(?) mysteries and this one really made me theorize and think. I read this with a book club so the discussions definitely made the book better, we got to theorize a lot. One thing that I found really lazy though is that the author introduced some plot points and important background information in a very uncreative way... idk I just didn't like that some information was just told to us instead of shown to us if that makes sense. I also did not like the ending that much, it was very unsatisfying which could have been the point, but I did not enjoy that

The humor is very millennial core but I got use to it! I feel like this was a good intro for me into the sci fi genre. The whole idea of exploring space and interacting with alien species was interesting to me. I won't lie though, Rocky was the best part of this book. Some parts really dragged on, and I didn't care too much for the MC. Feel like I would've liked it more if I listened to the audiobook. Overall good story, am excited for the adaptation!!

This was just ok idk. “Step-sibling” stuff makes me a lil uncomfortable. We didnt unpack a lot of Imani’s trauma and how her mom affected her. The romance was ok ig. The plot was eh. The town was a lil cringy at the end when a plot point was revealed idk. Was a fast and kinda entertaining read though

I devoured this omg!! Still remains a comfort book even with its flaws
Some things:
-Wanda was just too nice and pure idk.
-Needed more angst before they opened up to her, felt too quick (but this is also due to her being too pure and lacking in personality flaws imo)
-also didnt like the ending that much
Side note: why is Meyer obsessed w weird love triangles??
