Really good to start but then, near the end, it just gets so convoluted & completely unbelievable.

A little disjointed at places with jumping (flashbacks) timelines but other than that an engrossing and thought provoking book. I would highly recommend!

The premise had such promise but it bogged down in the middle and was so frustrating that they didn't forgive, communicate & deal with it already!

The racial & social class topics are deep and well developed but the mystery/murder is confusing and twisted but not in a great plot twists way. Just not even partially believable.

It was just not that great. Tried to list every name of the time and had to many characters.

Teas that can assist with sleep, arthritis etc area Ava's specialty. She doesn't realize how special she is to all the others in her life. More sister love than romance with such special magical realism.

So different! Ghosts & books & family & romance. I cried really hard, too. There is death and there is love.
