Isabel Luna has always been overlooked and discreet as the middle sister and bookish wallflower. She can sneak away from ballrooms and events unnoticed..... or so she thought.... Captain Sirius Dawson notices Isabels coninuous disapearances and offers to help her sneak around to get the information she needs to save her country.
After finishing the first book in this series, I went straight to this book and I can honestly say it did not disappoint!!! I related to Isabel a lot in the first book and was excited to read more about her and her spy- plot in this book.
I loved the relationship Isabel and Siruis had, as partners in crime and as a "couple". Their connection was very vulnerable and real...showing their true selves and their flaws but still loving eachother unconditionally. Siriuis really saw Isabel for the amazing, intelligent woman she was and went to great lengths to ensure she was safe and happy. Their love story was definitely my favourite so far!
I also liked the Historical components in this book and learning more about the Mexican war as I don't feel this is talked about alot! Liana did a great job explaining the issues and effect war had on people.
Overall, I loved this book and the historical element was really inspiring. I cannot wait for Gabby's story!!!

This book is perfect if you want a quick, cosy/spooky read with a cute slow-burn romance.
Lucky is a fun, unique character with ESP abilities. She gets a new job as a caretaker of the “haunted” Hennessee house, working with a tv production team who are trying to undercover the mysteries behind the houses paranormal activity. While uncovering more about the house and herself, she also gets to know more about the team. Her main focus though lands on the actor Maverick and his sweet, adventurous daughter Rebel. As she starts to fall for Maverick she starts to wonder if discovering more about the paranormal and building her career is the only thing she wants by the end of this mystery….
I’m a huge fan of paranormal stories and I love how Claire Kann added the element of romance in with the story to make this a heartfelt, cosy read. The characters were easily likeable and it was sweet to see how their relationships with Lucky developed over time. I especially enjoyed reding about Lucky’s relationship with Mavericks daughter, Rebel. Rebel was brave, adventurous and like her name, very rebellious when it came to following the rules. This fit perfectly with Lucky’s character as she was not one to follow the rules either and their relationship was sweet and heartwarming to witness.
The relationship between Maverick and Lucky was slow-paced and very heartwarming to read about, Their communication was full of understanding and patience and they both worked really well together! However, sometimes I would get a little lost in the conversations they would have and would need to reread a few times to understand what was happening. This made me lose interest at times but I still enjoyed all other parts of the book.
As for Hennessee house, the secrets and mystery were really fun to explore and there was times when I was really creeped out by the house!! The haunted concept was really intriguing and was the main focus for me and the most enjoyable parts were when Lucky was using her ability and exploring the house.
Overall this was a cute, spooky read which I would definitely recommend if you want a paranormal story with a romantic element to it!!

This book was an easy read! I just kept wanting to read more and more to find out what would happen next! Some of the twists were predictable but that didn’t take away from the book whatsoever!
The characters were interesting and all had their own issues which they dealt with in bad ways. Cleo was probably the most likeable out of all of them, the way she felt was more understandable than the others even though she did go a bit OTT about things.
Overall this was a good book and I am excited to read the prequel!

I was so excited to read this as the front cover peaked my interest.
Ruby finally gets her dream job as a flight attendant at Celestial Air but her toxic boyfriend, Richie, is completely against it. This is her dream job and her boyfriend did nothing but bring her down the entire time about it. What’s worse is that she stayed with him for over 80% of this book, letting him control her and insult her in the worst ways! I understand that toxic relationships can be hard to get away from but it felt like Ruby put up with her boyfriends s*** for way too long and it was dragged out a lot.
Ruby has no self-esteem and Is miserable in her relationship, still trying it bring back a spark that is long gone, until she meets a pilot at Celestial Air called Milo. Milo is like the “too good to be true” man for her and treats her the way she deserves to be treated. He shows her how beautiful and free her life could be once she stops letting Richie be her whole focus.
Yet she still stays with the idiot who shows no respect and is just a hateful person??? I struggled to understand why she stayed so long, especially when she started falling for Milo and knew she should leave her boyfriend who she no longer loved. Milo helped Ruby through a lot and was always there when she needed someone, unlike her boyfriend who left any chance he could get. Ruby did annoy me at times and I wish she had more of a backbone when it came to her toxic relationship but at least she eventually left and went on to have a better life.
Overall, I liked the relationship between Ruby and Milo and thought it was sweet. I just wish Ruby would have left Richie sooner so that her and Milo could have had more time as a couple. I also enjoyed seeing what training it takes to become a flight attendant, the training sessions were fun to read. I will definitely try more books by Jackie Ladbury.

I was fortunate enough to be given an early copy of this book and I absolutely adored it!!! This is the first book I have read of Hailey Frost and it did not disappoint!
Siren’s Heart is a fast-paced, insta-love romcom with the perfect amount of spice. Millie is one half of pop duo, The Siren’s, and is constantly in the media spotlight for being a “serial dater”. Luca is an actor who happens to be selected to play in a charity football match where Millie is hired to perform…. ITS LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT!!!! But everyone knows fame has its price when It comes to love…Millie and Luca must decide if taking the risk is worth it….
Millie and Luca’s relationship is so wholesome! Seeing how they support eachother through everything is so heartwarming. I loved all the characters and their interactions with each other !
Hailey’s representation of social media and its negative effects on celebrities was written perfectly. It was heartbreaking to read about Millie’s struggles caused by people who believed they knew her just because of things they’d read/seen on a screen or piece of paper. Hailey also showed how social media can be used in a positive way.
I highly recommend this book if you are looking for a quick, sweet and spicy romcom which will definitely have you giggling and kicking your feet! I cannot wait for the next book to come out!!
