This book is an all-time favorite of mine and my tween daughter loves it, too! Ready or Not is a humorous and encouraging story with a strong foundation of faith, family, and friends.

Rylie and Zach get off on the wrong foot and both are under a lot of stress. Rylie's job puts her emotions through the wringer daily and she's burning the candle at both ends. Zach's heartache hits closer to home but he's too far away to offer tangible support.
Zach and Rylie butt heads at first but they make a great team when they finally open up and communicate.

Maddie takes her need for emotional healing and his need for physical healing and forms a plan that benefits them both. While working out the kinks in their arrangement, Maddie and Holden realize they have a lot to learn about one another. Everything from differences in faith to family dynamics seems to complicate their situation.
This story had a little "marriage of convenience" vibe that I really liked and several secondary characters I was really fond of.
I received a copy of this book through Singing Librarians Books Tours. The opinions expressed are my own.

Lily's assignment to two high-profile patients complicates her life outside the hospital, putting her in the media spotlight and in danger. Caleb has his own work drama to wade through and he does everything he can to keep Lily safe.
Lily and Caleb both have a strong faith and acknowledge the powerful attraction between them. Amidst all the drama and suspense, Caleb's mama provides some comedic relief with a backyard shindig and not so subtle matchmaker schemes for her son and her favorite nurse. This story has a little bit of something for everyone!

Aggie's adventure continues! Aggie has to make a lot of decisions for her family and I so appreciate the way she isn't afraid to think outside of the box. She contemplates, analyzes, and seeks advice from friends and family. Aggie has several people who have stepped up to support and encourage her but my favorite character in this book is on the top of that list, Luke!

Lady Merry Ellison is a natural leader and fiercely protective of her fellow orphans. She's beautifully complex, a tender and compassionate mother figure to the littlest orphans, and also a stealthy, calculating, and skilled leader. Merry's little community is filled with clever, hard working young people who have benefited and flourished under her teaching and training.
A band of orphans surviving in the forest dubbed as "Ghosts" would be an interesting story in itself but the addition of Merry's childhood best friend and playmate Timothy Grey elevates the story to a new level of intriguing and suspenseful! Merry and Timothy have to learn to trust one another all over again, come to terms with the past, and figure out what the future holds.

At first glance, Gwen seems like the classic medieval tomboy. While it’s true she’d rather be out jousting with her brothers or her loyal lady’s maid than sitting by the fire for hours embroidering, her true joy is the feeling of freedom being active and outdoors gives her. Gwen’s father is an awful man, he’s power-hungry, cruel, and abusive towards his wife and children. He goes to great lengths to keep his family under his thumb including choosing an oppressive husband for his daughter.

This action packed novella definitely makes me want to pick up the whole series. Great story in a small package! Well done, Erica Vetsch!
