a tiktok rec I am thankful for! hell has indeed frozen over.

pacing/plot was a bit wonky in this but the characterization was so strong! and if there is one thing i’m a slut for it’s good characterization. also maybe i’m into mountain men now? (3.8/5)

when you think you know the twist and Flynn makes your head spin over and over again from the final unprecedented conclusion? a readers dream come true if i’ve ever seen it

this is not the next great american novel…in fact the lack of editing hardly makes this a novel but god this was so bad it was good? like campy? v predictable but that made the self inflicted giggles i had reading this all the more fun

JLB ties up everything nice in a pretty bow but god does it feel like it took some time to get there. the unnecessary love triangle (strong relationship building where??) is the weak link of this series but damn can this lady write a good twist and turn

argubaly the most boring book I’ve read this year. this would’ve worked as a novella as it felt like nothing new was added to the austen universe and the author got away with just austen fans assuming to know the characterization + boring plot lines from their previous novels.

Nvm giving this two stars because I keep thinking about how good the book before this was, and then I got this bs and was supposed to be okay with it????

I want to give this two stars, but the fact someone can have me interested in eight (yes, EIGHT) main characters over the span of 900 pages (which felt like the 21st century equivalent to Homer’s Odyssey) is an accomplishment itself

a hoot and a fucking half — for a book that’s almost 50 years old this holds so much humor and wit!!! proper enemies to lovers I might say!!

the ultimate Hades + Persephone retelling is just as good in hardcover as it is reading it on Webtoon <333
