seriously such a lovely retelling of hades and the peresephone myth, gets better with every novel
This book and the use of the “s” possessive in this book is utterly level 10 bonkers. The plot was….a plot for sure….we could’ve done this under 300 pages in my humble opinion. It oddly feels like it could’ve been from 2005 yet I suprised to see it was 2022???? (who wore a skirt with music notes on it and a lavender blouse in 2022??? i’m being nit picky but like come on)
GOD are we in an editor drought in the publishing industry? how can we have a book be 500+ pages and have characterization that barely makes the mark, a romance that’s so surface level, and a “mysterious” plot that takes wayyyy too long to unravel. it’s frustrating because Gong CAN write but the execution is never there.
a thought provoking read that gets bumbled up by its translation. for a story about womanhood….why have a man translate it…truly!!!
breaking my “I don’t rate nonfiction rule” for this book. it was wonderfully heart-wrenching.
fucking!!! nuts!!! love when a nonfiction tale is told like a thriller, my compliments to the chef!
if this book has a million fans, i’m one of them. if this book has 5 fans, i’m one of them. if this book has no fans, IM DEAD!!!!!!
this book is the embodiment of the phrase, "slow start, but strong finish"
