This collection of short stories made me want to move to L.A., fall in love a bunch of times, make some stupid mistakes, and a bunch of other things. I've been fascinated by Babitz ever since I read 'Hollywood's Eve: Eve Babitz and the Secret History of L.A.' by Lili Anolik last year. I can now see why she gets all the hype.
The writing in this is so pretty that it masks the fact that nothing really happens in this book. I should rank this lower, but the fact that any author can make me want to stick through 500 pages of what basically is a pro-circus manifesto deserves some credit.
can't get over the fact the male lead had the internal thought of "Hulk smash."
