Ok so this is a pretty weird book, even for me. To start I'm not that used to novella compilations? (Actually not used to novellas at all but I digress) So I was thinking I was just gonna get one book, split into 4 parts.
Well, it is and it isn't. The first 3 do tell a cohesive story, while the 4th is more of a prequel and sequel at the same time. Also the 3rd and 4th novellas are written in a very distinct way, whick I liked. Speaking of the writing style, I adored it, it is descriptive while still flowing with elegance. As I read I couldn't help but think of paintings in the style of the cover, that was how I pictured this stories in my head.
I loved the characters, the plot had me interested, it was a great read overall and due to the fast pace, and the nature of the novellas I ended up reading it quite fast.

I have a feeling Monstress keeps getting darker with each volume, not (just) theme wise, but the pages themselves have so much more black in it.

Can't talk much about this without spoiling previous volumes, but oh boy, the art continues to be amazing, the story keeps answering my questions while unveiling just a bigger web of intrigue, worldbuilding, and whatever the hell happened with the old gods.
