Did I binge this in a few hours? Yes I did. This one just didn’t hit as well as the others. Margo and Caleb finally resolve their hate into love it just took so long. The plot got wild and a little messy with all the suspects involved especially with Matt. I felt like it happened all at once, in a rush, and I almost feel like I need read that part again. Unknown wasn’t working alone, and there were so many factors and people to distinguish who the main person was. I’m glad we got our resolution though because not only poor Margo but her sweet foster parents went through it it.
Thinking about it more, what was up with Riley and Eli things felt weird and unresolved there and I’m going to need a book on those two. We also NEVER found out about how she painted Caleb’s eyes and mouth for her final… Also, that one Liam chapter?! Def excited for his standalone
These books are just so addicting. You have to read the first one or this will make no sense!
Caleb and Margo are so toxic and I need to know what happened! I saw the ending coming a mile away but I’m still mad because Robert doesn’t deserve that! I liked the past and present aspects with Margo trying to find her memory and figure out how she ruined everyone’s lives. Her dad is def not guilty of why he’s in jail and I really hope we get a resolution of what really happened. For sure his nasty uncle is involved and I have a weird suspicion her old foster sister is involved in the unknown texting situation too.
Cupids can’t find love and Santa isn’t joyful (I still have so many questions why?).
Xo wants love and writes letters to Santa in hopes he can help her….and help her he does. Apparently she is the only one of her siblings that didn’t know love and sex aren’t the same so she is a sweet innocent Cupid and her siblings are…not.
Santa is a dragon with a candy cane colored (and ability to curve?) 🍆 and he also tastes like peppermint. He obviously teaches her so she is read to find love and she helps him get his joy.
It’s a novella so of course it’s short but just felt like it was missing something. There are also three epilogues. I was entertained but took me forever to finish because I just didn’t care that much.
Okay I was so excited to start this book after the ending of the first and I am so glad I have the rest of these preordered! I’ve seen some comments about it just ending but there is a bonus chapter from her sisters POV that shows everything is not fine, and that her brother the new king is planning on “setting the world on fire” aka setting up the next storyline.
I enjoyed seeing her sisters in bits through this and have a feeling they will continue to pop up because ithicana will have to be involved because this war is not over obviously.
Most of this story is saving Aren, and the Lara feeling guilty and doing anything she can including trying to sacrifice herself to save him and his(their) people.
Tbh there is one sex scene that felt odd, it happens after a major injury and I get the adrenaline but meh I actually could have done without it in this story, or had it happen at a different time.
This story is very heavy on the politics of the world especially Keris and his planning. He’s playing the long game and using Aren and Lara as pieces, so I’m excited for his story to see what his goals really are, and what will happen with him and his love interest.
Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated

This book was so slow and mundane. Describing every day in the life and a teenager who thinks she’s in love. You also know the ending from the start so I don’t know why people were shocked or crying.
