The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi

4.0

Rooted in history and religion, forged from magic, mathematics, and fantasy, Paris in 1889 is a world unlike any other - as are its characters. Though we've been told not to expect heroes out of thieves, that's exactly what you get in Severin, Layla, Enrique, and the entire ragtag bunch. Each backstory is expertly woven into this multifaceted tapestry. Hilarious, poignant, and sometimes dark, Chokshi has created a magical world not unlike JK Rowling's, hiding in plain sight.

Plus, the narrators are fabulous! Seriously, this may be one for your audiobook list.
