The Worst Wedding Date by Pippa Grant
5.0
This was my first book by Pippa Grant, but it definitely won’t be my last! I absolutely loved it—it was funny, romantic, and so entertaining. It did take me a little while to adjust to her unique writing style, but once I got the hang of it, I was completely hooked.
I never thought I’d enjoy reading a romance book with a cat’s POV, but this one changed my mind! It was such a different experience, and honestly, I loved it. Delaney's insecurities were so relatable, and I admired how supportive Theo was throughout the story. The way both characters grew individually and as a couple was heartwarming.
The small-town gossip mill was a riot—everyone was in everyone else's business, and it made for some truly hilarious moments. As for Chandler, he was a walking red flag, and I couldn't stand him from the very beginning. But the ending? So satisfying and absolutely hilarious!
Overall, I loved this book and can’t wait to read more by Pippa Grant. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys enemies-to-lovers, opposites-attract tropes, and just the right amount of spice!

Born of Starlight by Mariet Kay

Born of Starlight is a stunning debut romantasy with a loose yet captivating retelling of Rapunzel. The magical world-building is enchanting, and the characters and story was so compelling that I found myself hooked from the very beginning.
Asterie and Fenris shine both as individual characters and as a pair. I also enjoyed the side characters like Sybilla, Emmerick, Krait, Amara, and the other sisters—though I had my suspicions about Firose from the start! Asterie’s confined life in the tower was heartbreaking, but her journey to save the realm was empowering and thrilling.
The vivid settings and unique magic systems added so much depth to the story. The wastelands and the war scenes gave me nostalgic vibes of The Court of Wings & Ruin, and the concept of the wastelands as a secretly warded realm reminded me of Velaris from the ACOTAR series—but with its own distinctive charm.
The plot was addictive, the pacing spot-on, and the story left me on the edge with a suspense. Thankfully, I had the sequel, City of Snakes, ready to dive into! And I have to say, Vangard was a delightful addition—I absolutely adore him.
If you’re a fan of fantasy and romance, this book is a must-read. I highly recommend it, especially for someone who love immersive worlds and unforgettable characters.

I was so glad to have this book ready to dive into right after finishing the first one! The story had me so hooked that I couldn’t wait to see what more this series had to offer. After finishing this second installment, I can confidently say I’m craving even more—and I can’t wait for the next book to release.
The character development in this book is absolutely commendable. There’s something so satisfying about seeing a character’s hidden layers unfold. When you initially judge a character based on one side of their personality, only to later understand their deeper motivations, it makes the story all the more enriching.
I thoroughly enjoyed the exploration of the Sahlmsaran realm—it was beautifully vivid and immersive. The tension and banter between Sybilla and Krait were perfect, and watching their relationship grow was such a joy. Sybilla’s strength and determination made her an incredibly compelling character, and Krait? Brooding, grumpy, and the ultimate shadow daddy—he’s just irresistible!
How could I forget Ryn and Else? I adored them too, but Ryn—why??

C*ck Down The Block
First off, I absolutely love the title of this book! The cover is also incredibly cute, which instantly caught my attention. One of the highlights for me was how beautifully body positivity was woven throughout the story. The book doesn't shy away from addressing important topics like fatphobia and misogyny, and I absolutely loved how those issues were confronted head-on—seeing those moments of justice felt so satisfying!
As a mid-sized woman, I found this book deeply relatable. It really highlights the emotional impact of judgmental behavior on mental health and does a fantastic job of showing how the characters grow and overcome these challenges.
The story itself is excellent! I adored both Chris and Trixie; they’re such a perfect match. Their relationship is refreshingly free of unnecessary drama, fights, or miscommunication (apart from the first proposal, of course). The writing kept me hooked from start to finish—it’s funny, engaging, and so entertaining.
This was my first book by this author, and I’m officially sold! I’ll definitely be picking up more of their works. I also fell in love with the chaotic yet lovable Kingsman family, and I’d love to read more about them in the future.
A huge thank you to Beyond The Book PR for providing me with a free copy for honest review and the opportunity to read this gem. If you’re a fan of sports romance with a curvy FMC and the ultimate book boyfriend in Chris, I highly recommend giving this one a try!

Emperor of Havoc by Jagger Cole
4.0
Emperor of Havoc takes readers on a dark, addictive journey into a mafia world filled with chaos, passion, and power. Tak, the magnetic anti-hero, commands attention with his killer smile and relentless thirst for control. Ruthless and dangerously unpredictable, he’s the kind of character who leaves an unforgettable impression. Then there is Kat, a woman who refuses to back down, and their sharp banter kept me thoroughly entertained.
This story revolves around a marriage of convenience—a union forged to prevent a mafia war—that takes a bloodier, darker turn. Watching the evolution of their dynamic was a highlight, as the tension between them shifted in fascinating ways. However, this book isn’t for everyone; it’s violent, gritty, and packed with intense spice. Be sure to check the trigger warnings before diving in.
The suspense kept me hooked, and the thrilling ending had me on edge until the final page. Overall, Emperor of Havoc is a gripping dark romance. If you’re a fan of intense mafia stories where danger and desire intertwine, this one is for you.

Battle of the Bookstores by Ali Brady

This book is perfect for anyone who loves reading, especially fans of literary fiction and romance novels, as it beautifully represents both genres. As a book lover myself, I adored so much about this story. The dual POVs—one from someone who loves romance books and the other from someone who prefers literary fiction—added depth and variety to the narrative.
I also appreciated the message that people have diverse tastes in books and that we shouldn’t judge others for their preferences. What you might not enjoy could be someone else’s treasured gem.
The book's focus on two different indie bookstores was a delightful highlight. It gave an intimate glimpse into the world of independent bookstores, and as a reader, it was fascinating to see what goes on behind the scenes. The frequent references to quotes from books and mentions of authors' names made me feel giddy with recognition—it’s always a joy to see familiar names celebrated in a story.
While I truly enjoyed the book, I did feel a bit frustrated with the FMC’s initial behavior and the miscommunication between the main characters. However, this didn’t take away from my overall enjoyment, as the story itself was heartwarming and a treat for book lovers. If you love reading, this is definitely a book you should try!

Oh my God, I can’t even begin to describe how amazing and insanely hot this book is! It’s truly a gem, and I’m so thankful for whatever sign led me to it. I’m beyond glad I picked it up because it had me completely hooked from start to finish. I managed to finish it in just two days—I could’ve done it sooner, but I had to sleep and deal with other things. Even while doing those, I couldn’t stop thinking about this story.
Eliza is such a sweetheart, and my heart breaks for everything she endured over ten long years. The way this book addresses DV is both powerful and sensitive, making it a standout read. Pairing this heavy topic with B*SM, the author handled it brilliantly. The way the D/S scenes were written felt like I was taking a masterclass on how it works

Penn by Jennifer Millikin

Daisy and Penn completely stole my heart. Their chemistry is phenomenal—even with the whole secret identity situation. The way Penn looked at Daisy, how he challenged her beliefs about love, and the undeniable pull between them had me hooked. The suspense of Penn’s earlier departure and Daisy’s arranged engagement kept me intrigued, and I just had to know how it would all unfold. I loved how Penn was such a gentleman about touching another man's fiancee!
The small-town vibes were perfect! From cozy little spots to town traditions and, of course, the ever-busy gossip mill (because what’s a small-town romance without nosy neighbors?), everything added to the charm. I also adored the side characters—each one brought something special to the story, and I need their books ASAP, especially Duke (can't wait to read more about him). Also, the men’s book club? Absolutely hilarious and such a fun touch!
All in all, this is a good one if you love friends-to-lovers, forced proximity, and a hero who would do anything for his heroine then it's for you! It’s sweet, emotional, and just the right amount of swoony!

Oh. My. God. Why do I keep reading books with cliffhangers and unfinished endings? This book hit me with shock after shock, and I felt so incredibly sad for Nyleeria. At the same time, I absolutely hate Thaddeus. His character did a complete 360. It reminded me of Tamlin and Feyre—going from kind, loving, and sweet to a total jerk.
I loved some of the side characters, though. Endymion was my favorite, followed by Fiora, Myron, and Caius. The whole fae world and their powers were fascinating. But I absolutely hated Amos for what he did to Nyleeria—it was beyond cruel.
The story was so unpredictable, and I couldn’t wrap my head around how much Nyleeria had to endure. After everything she suffered in her childhood, she still had to go through so much more. It broke my heart for her. How can life be so cruel to just one person? And why do people hide so many secrets just to get what they want? I’ll never forgive Thaddeus for what he did, and I really hope Nyleeria gets her happy ending because this is way too much for a 21-year-old girl.
The story flowed so well and kept me craving more. The writing was immersive and beautifully done. If you love fantasy worlds with lots of twists and turns, I’d definitely recommend this book. But it does deal with heavy themes, so I’d suggest checking out the trigger warnings first. Overall, it’s a fantastic story!
