this is a story about grief, and how when we let it and feelings similar to it fester within us it can end up rotting into our life.

the author depicted these fascinating characters and their relationships with one another and while the protagonist jess-lynn was infuriating her journey was interesting and you could feel her growth. going through some grief myself, i found myself sympathizing and connecting with the characters on a deeper level and this was just a book that i read at the right time.

the author has beautiful writing, and the descriptions were gross and cool, with taxidermy often being used to make points and comparisons. nothing seemed to happen in this book yet everything happened at the same time.

a good read.

if i wanted to read a book with no plot, a gambling addiction, daddy issues, and a praise kink along with TOO MANY FUCKING PAGES- i would just read the bible
_________

bro why is hannah grace making these books so long T-T

this book was better than icebreaker but still suffered from no plot and extra chapters that really could have just been cut. i liked the vibe, characters, and relations in Wildfire much more than Icebreaker though, so take with that what you will. i'm probably going to forget about this book in two weeks just like i did Icebreaker.

russ is a cutie tho, but he's still a man

vanilla: on ice!

______________

just a very basic romance, that unfortunately didn't seem to have a plot? the plot was like a cooked spaghetti noodle, that was held together by scenes of mental health and dick so-

just very eh. i feel like it didnt need to be as long as it what was and didn't really enjoy the two mcs all that much. i will give credit where credit is due though, this book is easy to read through and the writing gets to the point quite quickly

i just know the victorian girlies were eating this up- they were gasping at the plot twists, twirling their hair and kicking their feet, and staying up far later than they should just to read another chapter.

********

this was a lot better than i expected it to be! the writing was beautiful and the character of jane was very well constructed! i think she's one my favorite classic characters for sure! she was really likable and the things she experienced/talked about was very relevant which i found surprising. i found the book to lag a bit towards the end though, but the ending was really good (i'm talking that last chapter the EPILOGUE). overall was impressed, though reading classics takes a lot out of me and now i want to rot my brain with some truly terrible YA
