Very American! The girlhood aspect felt like it was written to be relatable, and it didn't work for me.

Overall I found the story ok enough, I enjoyed the writing, and characters who I would have liked learning more about, but the inconclusive ending was unsatisfying, with so many elements being unexplained and unresolved.

enjoying the series and will continue it (listening to it and the narrator is amazing as previously), but found this volume to be not too great, it dragged a Lot!

I had doubts at first because of negative reviews I had read about T. Kingfisher, but this book was great! I was pleasantly surprised by the writing.

I liked the plot, but what really stood out were the world, its magic and the characters!

I adored all the tidbits along the way to accomplish the main quest. All the details felt like getting to learn about parts that would be usually cut off, and I loved that.

I really never read plays, but saw a quote online from Crave that I loved, hence why I'm here. ("If I could be free of you without having to lose you. Sometimes that's not possible")
While I did not understand a single thing that was supposed to happen, I did enjoy the style of Kane's longer meaningful phrases. I would have loved reading this as an actual poetry collection, but it is what it is.

had a lot of potential, I liked the setting and characters, but I found the writing too on the nose and "telling" rather than showing. the instant relationship/attraction didn't convince me either..

I want every book I read to feel like how this felt.

Brilliant.

(Also, never one to pay attention to covers but I'm in awe of this one. Makes me feel emotions close to its themes)
