I’m not a fantasy or magic person usually, but I heard great things about this book so I gave it s try. I expected to feel really enlightened and changed after this book, but I didn’t feel that way. It didn’t hit for me. It’s a pretty easy read. I do wish it had a little more meat. It was hard not to feel like some of the parts were cheesy.

A good beach read, but it will make you sob. It’s a quick and easy read. Don’t watch the movie after you read it though, you’ll be disappointed (although I still cried).

It’s a dense book to get through. If you can handle it, reading it is enjoyable. The style of writing is very descriptive and enjoyable if you can appreciate that type of thing. The book isn’t driven so much by dialogue or confrontation as much as it is driven by internal reflection of the characters.

Better than the Song of Achilles. It really reflects the complexity of individuals. Things aren’t black and white and while that’s scary that’s part of what makes life interesting and worth living.

This book does a great job of making you invested in the characters. Then it takes you places you didn’t expect to go. There’s a lot of philosophy in it - even for a person with a Bachelors in Philosophy. But all in all it’s a really great read about a religious kid being thrown into temptation and what it can do to you. As a non-Jewish person, I really enjoyed the book and learned a lot.

DID NOT FINISH: 70%

This book is really repetitive and did not offer enough deep explanation especially about the federal job guarantee and monetary sovereignty in respect to the European Union.

When I first started reading the book, I thought the writing was a little cringey and trying too hard. However, I absolutely loved the dialogue between the two main characters. The banter and tension was palpable. The book is filled with beautiful descriptive language. Although the plot was a bit predictable, it’s not really about the plot it’s about being the characters and falling in love. I definitely teared  up at the end when

This was a challenging book because of its content. However, the writing is absolutely beautiful and I felt the depiction of the three characters added so much depth to the novel. It makes you think a lot about what we can fool ourselves into thinking is right… It also shows the power of the herd mentality, especially when it comes to children.

I read this book because my mom recommended it. She said it reminded her a lot of her family. I thoroughly enjoyed the first couple of chapters about the authors early life and family. Some of the book focused too much on Hillary and read more like a praise of Hillary than a memoir. Overall, this is very well written and insightful read.

This book is beautifully written. It is full of figurative language and metaphors but it is not painful to read. Although the subject topic is bleak and difficult, this book is hard to put down. You crave the language and insight that comes of it.
