I love a slow burn, and baby, this romance is not even yet simmering - it's barely preheating, and I can't wait for book two!! Reece and Evan read as autistics on the opposite end of the empathy spectrum to me, which I also love. Very cool "magic" system. Have I mentioned I can't wait for book two??

Definitely a naïve-feeling story where any conflict is resolved quickly. However, this is exactly as the author wrote it: in the afterword of the new edition, they note that this was their first novel-length comic that they wrote in 2015-2017 for the express purpose of having a story with happy queer characters. While I would love to see this comic retold and redrawn now that the author is a more experienced storyteller and artist (the redrawn cover is stunning), this graphic novel is still a sweet, lovely read.
