Foe by Iain Reid
2.0
While I thoroughly enjoy Iain Reid's writing style, I just couldn't connect with this book.
I loved the play with punctuation.
However, the plot was pretty boring for me.
There are two twists; both were anticlimactic.
I loved his previous novel "I'm Thinking of Ending Things" and my obsession with it is the only thing that got me to the end of this one. I wanted to give up on the book early on, but I held onto the thought that the twist would change my perception. It didn't. I was really hoping it would get more interesting. It didn't. Just wasn't for me.
P.S. I'm upset that so many people have labeled this a horror. This is not a horror.
