The Goalie Who Stole Christmas by Cali Melle
4.0
This was a cute and fun read. This is my first read from this author and this novella is the 5th book of the series but reading the others in not necessary. I enjoyed this one and finished it in a couple of hours. This story is a friends to lovers romance with the hockey setting.
Asher is dreading going home for the holidays, especially since his mother is begging him to settle down and get married. Instead of going alone, he convinces his best friend, Sydney, to join him and pretend to be his girlfriend. She agrees, secretly keeping her feelings for him in check. The two share special moments and Asher begins to realize his best friend is what he's been looking for all this time. The intimate moments are spicy, with lots of heat!
If you’re a fan of hockey romance in a holiday setting you will love this one.

Forbidden by Tia Louise
4.0
Tia Louise has been one of my many go-to authors over the years and she never disappoints! Forbidden is the fourth book of the Hamiltown Heat series and now I need to go back and read the others because I am slapping myself for being a fool and waiting on these. This story revolves around the characters, Dirk and Reanna. Dirk is all things sexy and I swear..his words left me melting. If you are a fan of Tia, this one will not disappoint!
Sins That Find Us by E.M. Lindsey
4.0
Sins that Find Us is my first read from EM Lindsey and this one did not disappoint. I will definitely go back and read her previous novels, because I was pleasantly surprised with this one. Sins that find Us is a play on modern fairytale romance but it is nothing like a sweet fairytale. This story has it all, darkness, lust, desire, passion, and panty melting scenes that make all readers blush. EM Lindsey brings these scenes to life with mind-bending words and descriptions that leave readers wanting more. The steamy scenes are scorching with burning desire mixed with MMF, MM, and MF scenes that leave nothing to the imagination. I will definitely be reading the next of the series!
Dirty Crazy Bad by Siobhan Davis
4.0
Whoooo, talk about a dark college romance! I am still reeling from this one and man, I want to read it again. Siobhan Davis knocked this one out of the park. I am so happy I decided to read this one and am going to devour the next book in the series right away. If you're a fan of dark romance, then please read this one. It's filled with angst, steamy scenes filled with lust and passion, and badass heroine who doesn't take crap from anyone.
When a Moth Loved a Bee by Pepper Winters
5.0
The queen of dark romance, Pepper Winters, has done something so crazy, it's freaking delicious! I am a HUGE fan of her work ever since she released Tears of Tess all those years ago. I continue to find myself always going back to her work, as she never disappoints.
When a Moth Loved a Bee is so different from her other novels, which can be a little scary for her beloved fans, but I promise it was well worth the dive to try this one out. This is a fantasy romance with elements of angsty romance with a smoldering, yet slow-burn type of chemistry. I absolutely devoured this book in one sitting, and when the story ended, I literally gasped. I desperately need the next book ASAP!
I will say the book is crazy long. I felt I was ready another Harry Potter story, but I do understand the reasoning behind the length of the novel. Pepper took her time to ensure the readers fully understand the world she so creatively built.

Commanding Flame and Shield by S.J. Barnett
4.0
Commanding Flame and Shield is my first read from SJ Barnett. I am a fan of all types of romance novels, so I know that just by reading the blurb, I had to try this one out. I'm really glad I did, as I was pleasantly surprised. This book has it all, great world building, amazing story telling, developed characters, lots of action packed scenes, and a warm romance. I will say this book is definitely on the longer side; I think close to 600 pages or so, but I did appreciate the author for taking the time to explain the whys behind it all. By the end, I was really happy I chose this one. Given it's length, it did take me a while to get into the story but once I was sucked in, I was done for! Overall, I thought this was a really good read and will recommend to fantasy readers!
Does It Hurt? by H.D. Carlton
3.0
I don't know what to say about this book other than it had so much potential. This was my first read from HD Carlton, and I knew what type of subject matter she writes, which does not bother me in the slightest. The story started great; there was a bit of mystery, a little action, and some tremendous intimate scenes between Sawyer and Enzo. Then everything went a little haywire and ridiculous during a specific boat scene, and I was completely taken off guard. Once the two ended up stranded on the island, I thought the story would pick up and get a little better, but it just went off the rails. Sylvester was a creep, understandably, but I just couldn't connect with Sawyer and Enzo. I did enjoy the last chapters of the story; however, the two plot twists were predictable, so a bit of a letdown. I really think this one had much potential, but I can also understand why others love this story. I really wanted to like this one more, which is a shame.
Crybaby by Michelle Lancaster, Monica James

Well...I literally have no words to describe my feelings after I finished this story. Let's just say that it is the EXACT opposite of what I expected this book to be. I understand this is a dark romance and consists of sensitive topics such as sexual assault and violence, but I've read dark romance novels before, and I love them, so I figured this book would be in a similar category. I was soooo wrong! Literally..the prologue, yes...the prologue, I knew this book would be different. It's hard to say much without spoiling it but I thought to myself, what were the authors thinking when writing this?! It's absolutely insane!
The first half of the story is pretty tame and once the revenge plot is set, it's literally on high adrenaline until the very end. The spicy moments between Rev and Darcie are ummmm...what's the word, animalistic, almost barbaric, but I still loved them! These characters are completely broken but I loved their chemistry and they were made for each other. Darcie is one of the strongest females I've ever read and although she went a little crazy, I found myself rooting for her, even though her revenge plot was a little sadistic. I cannot wait to read the next book of the series.

The Coven by Harper L. Woods
5.0
Wow! This book was EVERYTHING! I could not put it down and finished it in one sitting. By the time it was over, I had experienced one of the wildest adventures and I seriously want to go back.
The Coven is a story filled with magic, witches, demons, mystery, suspense, some epic world-building, forbidden loves, and great characters. Readers are introduced to Willow, who has spent most of her life in hiding from the coven of Crystal Hollow. The University's headmaster, Alaric, is assigned to return Willow by retrieving her by all means necessary. The two immediately butt heads and the banter and bickering begins. Tension grows into heat as the two continue to combat one another.
“I wanted to tear his throat out. I wanted to tear his clothes off.
The fact that I wasn’t even sure which one I wanted more terrified me.”
It's so difficult to wrap my emotions into words but all I can say is Thank you to Harper Woods. This book was pure magic and exceptional. The plot, the characters, the world-building...all of it. The romance between Willow and Alaric was fire with some scenes leaving me blushing. And that ending - it was heartbreaking. I need book 2 ASAP.
Highly recommended!
