This was my first read from Zepphora so I did not know what to expect. However, the blurb drew me in so I decided to give this one a shot. I really liked this story and am glad I decided to read it.

Careless is book 2 of the Grove Hill series. I did not read the first book and did feel I missed out on some elements of the story, especially the other secondary characters, however it did not take away from the main story plot of book 2. Readers are introduced to Rian and Sorchia, I believe they were mentioned in the book 1, so for fans of the series - they may already have the historical context revolving these two characters. This is a heated story about falling for her brother's best friend. It's filled with emotions, angst, drama, darkness, possession, some bullying moments, and a forbidden love - I was all for it. Rian is the typical tall, dark, handsome, and mysterious character who will stop at nothing to protect those he cares for. I loved the spice in this book and I did not see the twist at the end. Warning - cliffhanger!

Overall, this was a surprise and I will go back and read the first book of the series. If you're a fan of bully romance with hints of darkness and forbidden love, I highly recommend!
Between Commitment and Betrayal by Shain Rose

Shain Rose just got herself a new fan. This book was so good - I could not put it down. Between Commitment and Betrayal is one of my new top books of this month and I am so happy I decided to read this ARC. This is my first read from Shain Rose and it won't certainly be my last.

Between Commitment and Betrayal is the first book of the Hardy Billionaire Brothers series. First off - billionaire brothers? - YES! sign me up! Readers are first introduced to Declan and Everly, two characters who immediately hate each other. They are forced into a marriage contract for one year, in order for Declan to keep control of his corporation that was passed onto him by Every's late father. Given the circumstances, they reluctantly live together, immediately getting on each others' nerves. I loved the banter between these two but they could not deny the sexual chemistry that was sizzling between them. Everly is definitely a strong FMC and I loved that she didn't take any crap from anyone. Declan stole my heart. From his first introduction, I was hooked.

“I realized she didn’t belong to me, I belonged to her… she held my sanity, my control, my power, my heart in her hands. She owned me.”

If you're a fan of enemies to lovers romance with heated scenes of pure kink and spice, you will love this one.
Cruel Beginnings by Lili St. Germain, Amelia Queen

Of all things holy - I need a serious cleanse after reading this book. This one is dark, and I mean...DARK. This book was deliciously good, and I could not put it down. Also - welcome back, Lyra Parish. I've missed your work!!!

Cruel Beginnings is book 1 of the Cruel World series, and it is chopped full of danger, suspense, gritty darkness, intensity, and jaw-dropping twists and turns. The level of violence and just nastiness is on a whole new level, and I was all over it. Readers are introduced to Birdie and Darius, two souls just full of heartache, but they become intertwined in this world of a secret society filled with ruthlessness. No matter what life throws at Birdie, she never stops fighting and is a force to be reckoned with. Darius is the typical alpha male; dark, handsome, dominating, controlling, and cruel. The heated scenes are scorching, and I fell for Darius as he slowly opened himself up to Birdie. The twists at the end ripped me to shreds. It was such a blow that I had to recuperate a bit after, and as much as I have a love/hate relationship with cliffhangers, this one stung. Now I desperately need book 2.

I highly recommend it if you're a fan of genuinely dark romance with twists and turns. This book contains triggers, so please read them before diving in. Enjoy!
Possession by Adriana Anders

I finished this story a couple of days ago and it's still with me, lingering in the back of my mind. I honestly didn't know what to expect when I picked up this ARC from Adriana Anders. This is my first read from hers so I went in blind. When I first started reading, I hadn't realized that this is book #2 of the Kink Camp series, so I was hesitant to continue, but decided to read it anyway because I was already hooked.

Readers are first introduced to Zion in the first book, but I will say I didn't feel as I missed much details, however I will go back and read the first in the series. Zion is the frequent member of the kink camp and our ever-so-loving sadist. He is the power-hungry dom who wants full control over pretty much everyone. Our FMC, Twyla is an actress looking to make her way around a toxic industry and ends up in a fake marriage with Zion. The tension between them explodes into a cycle of kink and BDSM scenes that'll make anyone blush. Zion is your typical damaged soul, so naturally, I immediately gravitated toward his character.

The book is filled with kinky hot sex, with all kinds of different positions, but what I truly appreciated was that there was still so much honesty, emotion, and depth during the erotic moments. I also loved to read about diverse characters, with Twyla being a plus-sized Latina actress.

"A place where pain is pleasure, hate can be love, and we are all our own true selves. Every act is consensual, every person respected— unless that’s not what they want."

I finished this book in one sitting as I could not put it down. If you're a fan of kinky AF spice with elements of emotional turmoil then you will love this book. I am now a fan of Adriana Anders and will continue to read her work.
Touch of Hate by J.L. Beck, C. Hallman

I am a big fan of J.L. Beck's work so I knew that I just HAD to read this one. This is my first read from C. Hallman but given the co-authored material with JL Beck and the cover...I mean this COVER! I knew I had to get this one and read it asap.

This book blew me away. I think I finished it in four hours - I was so hooked! As I'm typing this, I am taken back to my emotions that were pretty much reeling nonstop throughout this story. Readers are introduced to the world of Ren and Scarlet. I will say, from my understanding this is a spinoff from the Corium University series, which I did not read. Although this book is marketed as a standalone, I do strongly recommend reading the Corium U. series first, to better understand the intertwined characters. I was a little lost at first, but pretty much told myself to get over, and keep reading this bad boy. This story is a mix of several romance tropes: secret dating, enemies to lovers, brother's best friend, touch her and die, and darkness to the 2nd power. I found myself rooting for Ren, even though he had secret plans that were so dark and sinister - I loved it! I am patiently waiting for the next book in the series, because the plot twist ending literally broke me!

I have been waiting for this book for almost six months, and it's HERE! This book was everything I thought it would be and so much more. I absolutely LOVED the first book in this series, especially Conner, so I won't like this one as much, but I was so wrong. Keir...Keir...Keir - how can this man take my breath away?

I could not put this book down. I finished it in just a few hours, and when I was finished, I wanted to read it all over again—devoured - straight killed this one! The story between Keir and Rowan was off the charts, scorching with passion, heat, intensity, and smoldering; I just loved it. Rowan is such a strong FMC that I genuinely admire. She is determined, independent, and just a bada$$ all around.

I am so obsessed with this series and am eager for the next one! If you're a fan of sexy and dark mafia romance with broody heroes and strong female leads, you will love this one!

Micalea Smeltzer knocks another one out of the park! What are you waiting for if you haven't read her work yet? Her words radiate off the pages, allowing readers to glimpse the beautiful and exciting worlds that Micalea continues to build.

Rising is the second book of The Wild duet, and it was everything I hoped for. The story is full of gripping and complicated romantic angst, leaving readers begging for more. I really enjoyed the rockstar feel and the element of this story.

Rising opens the world for Kira and Rush, welcoming readers to experience their brewing romance, filled with heartache and compassion but also heat with a mix of back-and-forth banter that I just loved. There were moments that absolutely just gutted me, and I had to pause reading for a bit to recover. Get ready for an emotional roller coaster ride!
A Cruel Arrangement by Tijan

A Cruel Arrangement is the second book of the Kings of New York duet and is the perfect ending to a wonderful and captivating story. Tijan has done it again! I just love her work as she is so talented and has gained a new fan!

This story unfolds with the after effects of the previous book's cliffhanger ending, so as soon as I received this one, I had to read it to find out what happens next! The darkness of this story drew me in immediately, but what I loved the most, was the light and warmth this story brought to the table.

Molly and Ashton's story unfolds before the readers eyes, which had a slow burn to it that I just devoured. Their mafia romance trope was filled with gritty suspense, with moments of passion and thrills. I loved this book so much! The storyline had me hooked from the very first page.

If you're a fan of dark romance suspense, with moments of heat and passion, I highly recommend this one!
