I think this book was a big improvement from the first. Thanks for adding the family tree. And the storyline was easier to follow. I can definitely tell this is where Asia Monique was finding her footing. I didn’t like the very last surprise, but other than that it was pretty good!

Ms. Bev know how to write a book. Even though this is a historical fiction it was easy to listen too with moments that were funny, murderous, shady, sexy, and cool. From start to finish this was a motion picture and it is truly a classic romance.

A thoughtful coming of age YA. 

This book touches on the aspects family, honesty, race, and found family. It is funny while being insightful. It pulls on those heart strings and doesn’t let go at times. It felt close to home for those not “black” enough girls, the quiet girls, shy girls. You will leave this book feeling brave. 

I appreciate the convos had with white counterparts but I think my hatred for them made me wish it wasn’t there. But I understand why. Great read overall all and easy to digest.
