This was an fast paced, sexy, cool, and magical. But don’t let that distract from the heart wrenching, very real truth about what many women go through. Thai novella does cover the topic of SA so please check trigger warnings. But it is played out in a of revenge. Not only revenge, but revenge without punishment for the victim which doesn’t happen often if at all. Joy has had her life turned upside down after being assaulted by her coworker. Lost and void, she is desperate and takes the advice of her eccentric aunt to call forth a demon to do her bidding. She expects to get her revenge and make her coworker pay and the demon (Malachi) expects to stay in the mortal realm a little while longer. But neither of them expected to fall for each other.

This book works through trauma and how to escape it. Rebuilding a life without fear of being dragged back down into the void. I absolutely loved the alternating POV and I think this is some of the best spice I have read since starting my book journey. Great read❤️
