Great and Precious Things by Rebecca Yarros

A story that involves a family full of sorrow, resentment, regrets, anger, and loss. A sad small-town romance about second chances and mending relationships with your loved ones.
The town was filled with so many toxic mindsets and hateful energy towards both characters because of their past and their decision to see each other. That's what bothers me the most is how the main conflict is the town and how they wouldn't mind their business. I get that they couldn't leave because of their families, but the way they dictated their life was shocking.
The romance felt flat to me since I was so reminded of how Cam who is the love interest tells her every chapter that she is too good for him, and he doesn't deserve her, and everyone is going to hate her if she dates him. Cut the crap right now with all that excuses, If he truly wanted her, he would've fought, despite the hate and negative talk they've been hearing. I get that he has a past and he gets blamed by the town for that past but it wasn't his fault and he just let it get through him.
Xander who is Cam's older brother has so many negative motives and he's like the older brother who wants to destroy his other siblings. Even his family is toxic and I understand the slight reason for it because of Cam's past but his family and the way he gets treated by them is so unfair since it's not his fault that situation happened.
Both characters deserved better, they just really need to get the hell out of that town.

This story sadly didn't hit the mark for me.
It has this cute setting of the beach and that's the only exciting part, everything else is not hitting the mark. There was also something about the characters that annoyed and bored me throughout the book. Luca the love interest, can be so condescending, mean, dumb, and with on and off his mood swings. Harper is just a nice person and that's her personality throughout the book. There was no build-up to their love story, no personality to the relationship, and their dynamic is so dull.
I thought at first that maybe Luca was misunderstood by the peers but he is so dumb and he wanted to prove a point and then where did it get him then. The beginning threw me off too. I don't understand the relatability in it in the story besides the beach.
Lastly, I was more interested in the dog and its cuteness.

This book is a walking red flag.
This story was so underwhelming and the fact how this was written with all the dramatics of a exaggerated wattpad mafia story.
I don’t understand how both main characters be so idiotic throughout the story. The female main character just sharing her life story to a stranger when she is supposed to be incognito in a city where she shouldn’t be known.
The male main character had so many issues and it was barely even explained throughout the book. His character is so exhausting to put up with, like the root of the cause wasn’t even mentioned.
There was no buildup with their relationship, no getting to know each other, just there living with one another being horny every other chapter.
Also, the way he got angry that she didn’t talked to him after realizing who he was. Like come on dude, what do you expect and especially pulling that stunt. It’s very obvious that he doesn’t prioritize her as a partner. She even explained why she hated the idea of marriages. Then he straight up made her marry him. To be honest, their personality worsens as the story progresses.
Overall, He needs to go to therapy. She could do so much better. This is such a disappointment, I should’ve known better.

A sci-fi dystopian story about an invasion of mechanical beings taking over the Earth. A story with a fast-paced plot, thrilling adventures as well as a found family trio. A story with a lot of different elements that are similar to other dystopian novels as well as making it different in its own way.
This was a quick and easy read for me and I was here for all the adventures of the characters. It did lack in some aspects like the worldbuilding and the background of the characters and how they became who they are. I did get confused with the purpose of mechanical beings and why they are like that same with the main characters.

A thrilling magical fantasy with an adventure storyline. A story with lots of tension, spice, and an action-packed plot. The aspects that this story has is overall decent and interesting.
I didn't have high expectations for the book for the reason that it lacked the essential aspects of fantasy and that was the world-building, descriptive information about the characters, history of the world, and foreshadowing. It was somehow enjoyable despite the absence of certain aspects of a fantasy story. This was all about the experience and the vibe that it gave throughout the story which made this a quick and easy read, despite it being a fantasy.
Overall this was a very predictable read and the revelation of the things in the story is not surprising since the prologue is literally the hint of who the characters are.

This is a cute, fun, and enjoyable rom-com that has great banter and comical characters which made it very entertaining. This is pure comedy in a nutshell with bits of embarrassment along the way.
The interactions, conversations, and vibe of the book are heartwarming, sweet, and light in a way that it'll be a wholesome read. I wasn't invested in the characters that much but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy myself while reading. This was overall a quick, quirky, funny read.

A sports college romance that delves into themes such as family, friendship, and self-growth.
This was a cute, fun, and quick read that focused more on family and showcased different aspects of hardships, second chances, and forgiveness to start afresh and understand things in a new light.
The romance is rather calming which made me not be invested with the main characters. The romance aspect isn't really the focus at all which I didn't mind since for me it's not the main focus of the story but that made me neutral throughout the story.
There was something that lacked in the relationship of the main characters as well as them as characters in the story. They were bland and hollow in my opinion for the reason that I needed more backstory to them as a character not only the relationship that they have with the Garrisons.

A modern fantasy set in a contemporary setting with a different plane showcasing historical flashbacks of the world before the war of gods and the ruination of the result. An enemies-to-lovers romance with a confusing and chaotic lack of worldbuilding of story with a very fast-paced plot.
The introduction of the characters made me think of them as someone who is callous, indifferent, and vile towards others, and yet it was the exact opposite in their personalities. The only thing that was vile and cruel about them was how they fought in battle scenes but other than that, their character didn't feel like their supposed age especially with them being alive for almost a century or even more than that.
I don't understand how they could easily decide to become friends with the ridiculous actions that they did throughout the story. The so-called pinky finger promise made me cringe and be weirded out by the situation itself. There was no depth in their character except for being the protector and the love that they have for the family. I understand that they had to adapt to fit in but their character seemed young for how they acted and conversed with one another.
The plot was very interesting though it lacked the aspect of creating the worldbuilding of the setting, history, and characters. It is under-develop, to say the least, and it can be disappointing when this is marketed as a fantasy.
