This is an excellent book. Short, as befits the general structure of the series, but it is even so a very nice high-level overview. Despite the necessarily high-level coverage the book is full of small, interesting details.

Some aspects of the overall setting are hard to accept (/'swallow'), and these occasionally contribute to making willing suspension of disbelief harder to engage in than should really be necessary, but that doesn't change the fact that this is just a great book. Dark, but a thoroughly enjoyable read.
