I picked this randomly because it was towards the front of my Libby list (being an A book), available now, short, and I honestly didn’t care too much about it (I didn’t want to get into anything that I cared too much about because life has been crazy and my mind has been distracted and I didn’t want to risk ruining a book I was really looking forward to by reading it when I might not be able to fully focus).

I’m glad I picked this book because it was so unique and interesting. Jumping between all those possible realities. I thought it was wonderful. And like someone else in a review said, it felt realistic. Like it could be a real teenage girl with real life problems.

This started very slow but it picked up towards the end.
The resolution with Pan was interesting. I’m not sure how I feel about it. It was a bit Star-lord from Guardians of the Galaxy for me lol.

Yet another good Argeneau book. My thoughts have been way too busy lately with working 2 jobs, buying a house, and preparing to move… so these have been just what I needed.

This was a MurderBot book, so obviously it was fantastic. The beginning was extremely confusing because this takes place before the last book in the series? I don't quite understand why the books were published in this order and I wish I would have known to read this one first beforehand. But oh well.

I also wish I had read this at a less stressful time of life because I felt like I was a bit distracted at the end and I could not enjoy it as much as I would have otherwise. But I'm sure I will be reading the entire series again within the next few years so I guess it does not really matter. It was still fantastic.

This was a really good Argeneau book! I enjoyed the characters themselves as well as their particular "situation".

I do not know how I felt about this book. I guess it was a good chance for Prince Henry to get his story out there since the palace seemed determined to keep him quiet, but I feel like this book also included a lot of unnecessary details.

As usual, another perfect Murderbot novella.

I only wrote down 2 comments, but honestly I wanted to highlight every other line (line normal) because Murderbot is hilarious.

I really enjoyed this book. I enjoyed the historical love affair and that couple way more than the “present” stuff with Ashlyn, but it was still all great.

- this is so much more than I thought it would be. I am so caught up in this historic catastrophe of a love affair.

54% how could she be mad at him? He already confessed that he has originally come into her life chasing a story. And now she is mad because she has learned the full extent of the story? Can you blame him for trying to shelter her from the true horror of her very own father? He pulled the story. He refused to go public with it. She should WANT the story to be made public so that he no longer controls and manipulates her, his very own daughter. HE KILLED HIS WIFE/HER MOTHER! How can you support him still, when you were already afraid of him before discovering he was likely a murderer?
- I really love the journal/historic couple element, but I feel like Ashlyn’s little romantic situation is rushed and awkward and forced/out of place.

- and this book could have absolutely been done without the psychic element as well. I assume it was used to explain why this random person was so invested in this story, but honestly she could have just been a curious obsessive person without the magic.

I absolutely loved that ending. It was heartbreaking but perfect. I could still care less about Ashlyn. All I cared about was Belle and Hemi. Which were incredibly awful nickname choices but oh well. It was still great.

Once again it’s amazing how much I don’t remember (everything) from the first time I read this book.
