The Wedding Date by Jasmine Guillory

Actual Rating: 4.5/5
This was honestly one of the best romance books I've read in a while. I loved absolutely everything about this novel; the characters, the plot, the setting, and even all of the fights that they both got in. The only reason I didn't give it a perfect 5/5 was because their relationship just got too much in the first half of the book, but I guess I should have expected that. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants an entry book into the romance genre, or even anyone who is looking to make the shift to reading more adult geared literature.

When I saw all of the bad reviews for this book, I was really hesitant to read it. And when I did start, I wasn't too thrilled about it and thought about adding it to my DNF pile. However, I am so glad I actually took the time to read this book because it has easily become one of my favorites. Not only does this feel like a mature version of stories I loved when I was a kid, but the writing style also pulled me in for all of the plot points. I do agree with many other reviews though that the sexual comments got a bit annoying and uncomfortable at points, but they do lessen as the story goes on. The tv show does not live up to this book in the slightest though, so much so that I'd find it very hard to compare them considering the book is more drawn out and takes everything at a slower, more detailed pace.
